Today we conclude season 10 with a collaborative episode with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This episode brings together and builds on previous episodes that highlight the special and integral relationship between both entities to deliver exceptional health care in our rural and remote footprint.

As we near the end of our season, we find ourselves at our final destination and most southern health facility in the Far West Local Health District, Balranald.

The township of Balranald is nestled on the beautiful Murrumbidgee River, and is famously known as the gateway to the “Five Rivers” region, as the town sits just upstream from where the Murrumbidgee converges with the Murray River.   The Balranald region has five rivers that run through it, the Murrumbidgee, Murray, Wakool, Edward and Lachlan Rivers.   The region is highly regarded for its local waterways and outdoor attractions, including the nearby Yanga National Park and the culturally significant World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park.

Moving further through the Far West Local Health District, today we have arrived at Wentworth.  The town of two rivers, where the Murray and Darling rivers meet.  Wentworth is most famous for the historic inland river port, riverboat history, and the old Wentworth Gaol which was built in 1879.
