  • Victory Over Temptations
This sermon examines the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness as a model for believers facing spiritual battles. It highlights the necessity of relying on the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to overcome the schemes of the devil, who often attacks during moments of weakness or vulnerability. The text distinguishes between being tempted and consenting to sin, emphasizing that temptation serves to reveal character and deepen dependence on God. By analyzing the three specific temptations, the message instructs believers to resist through scripture, avoid sensationalism, and maintain exclusive worship of God. Ultimately, it affirms that Jesus' victory over sin provides believers with the grace and strength to stand firm in their faith.

  • Mormon Debates, Avoiding Acts 4, Some Personal Encouragement
Went over some developments on the Mormon front, the fact that Mormonism really is splintering fast into self-prophet groups with all sorts of different views and beliefs. We also looked at a statement posted by Leighton Flowers (written by someone else) that said that if Judas or Pilate had "repented" that God could have found "someone else." We thought through what that would mean and realized that's just Open Theism wearing a big nose and a fake mustache. Finally at the end I told everyone who didn't want something personal to tune out, and then I told the story of how I have been using Claude, the AI, to create programs that are allowing me to record my workouts and get a better idea of how hard I am lifting, etc. Just a little encouragement for my fellow aging athletes.

  • Vlad Savchuk’s “Octopus Spirit” Teaching Examined by Scripture
Dawn Hill examines Vlad Savchuk's "octopus spirit" teaching and the Scriptures used to support it. She explains why passages about thoughts, temptation, and spiritual warfare should be read in context rather than used to establish an unnamed demon. She closes with biblical encouragement to seek counsel, resist isolation, and look to Christ and His Word. For more from Dawn, please visit: https://servantsofgrace.org/dawn-hill/

  • Faith and Love to the End
Paul wrote to the Thessalonian church and warned them that tribulation would continue for the church, but they needed to stand fast in the Lord and love each other. That same formula works for the church today, we will never go farther than our faith in Jesus and our love for the brethren. Grab your Bible turn to 1 Thessalonians 3, and follow along with Pastor Mike.

  • WE WORKED TOO HARD FOR YOU TO QUIT NOW!
We Stood Through It So You Can Thrive Paul had poured himself into the believers at Thessalonica. He had taught them, encouraged them, and laboured for their faith. But when affliction came and the tempter pressed them, Paul was deeply concerned that all that labour might be in vain. "For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain." 1 Thessalonians 3:5 KJB Timothy returned with good news. Their faith had held. Their charity remained. They had not quit. That report brought Paul to one of the strongest statements in the passage: "For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 3:8 KJB The Christian life is not a call to quit when the pressure comes. Others have prayed for you, taught you, invested in you, stood beside you, and laboured for your faith. The tempter would love to make that labour appear wasted. But the answer is to stand fast in the Lord. We stood through it so you can thrive. Join Pastor Ed Decker at Arnold Baptist Tabernacle for this message from 1 Thessalonians 3:1-8: "We Worked Too Hard for YOU to Quit Now!"

  • Service and sacrifice
If Acts has two streams (the ministries of Peter and of Paul) then it also has three waves, as Christ's gospel spreads from Jerusalem, through Judea and Samaria, to the end of the earth. Here we are in Antioch, as the church separates Barnabas and Saul to the work of gospel preaching beyond the Mediterranean. We look at the men involved, the ministry they had, the motion of the Holy Spirit, and then the mission on which they were sent.
