Fate, Luck & Karma: Geek Culture with a Side of Strange

In this, the penultimate episode of Fate, Luck & Karma: A Ghostbusters Fan Podcast, join Dean, Lee, Jay and Theo as they discuss what they hope to see and what they think they'll see in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

The team share the things that could make them leap out of their movie seats in excitement at that first screening, the moments that will truly make Frozen Empire memorable for them, and also some massively unreasonable and far-fetched hopes for subtle cameo appearances for the FLK and West Midlands Ghostbusters crew in the movie itself.

It's not going to happen, but Ghostbuster geeks can dream.

Plus, Theo sings (again), Lee busts out some frankly creepy voices (again), and 87% of the things Jay says end up on the cutting room floor (again). You gotta give the people what they want after all!

Enjoy the episode - and bring on Frozen Empire!

There's just two episodes left in Season One of Fate, Luck & Karma. It's been a wild ride over the last 23 eps, but it's strangely appropriate that the team bow out talking about what they hope to see from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - and then reacting to their very first viewing of the new movie.

So be sure to keep an eye out for the penultimate episode of Season One of Fate, Luck & Karma. It's gonna be emotional...

Join Dean, Jay and Theo (but sadly not Lee who had to sit this one out) as they watch together for the very first time both the North American theatrical trailer for Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, and the International Trailer too.

You'll hear their live reactions as they see both trailers, and can watch along as they pick apart in detail some of the reveals, clues, hints and revelations contained within the North American trailer.

It goes without saying that there's plenty of spoilers in here, so if you're keeping yourself as spoiler-free as possible, swing back around after you've caught the movie. For everyone else, grab your popcorn, settle in and listen to three Ghostbusters geeks doing what Ghostbusters geeks do.

And yes, bustin' makes them feel good.

In this double-length episode, join Dean, Lee, Jay and Theo as they flick through the pages of UK movie magazine 'Empire', and talk through the 12 pages that are devoted to the upcoming release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

In this spoiler heavy discuss, the team pick apart all of the big news, reveals, hints and clues as to what to expect from the new Ghostbusters movie, and wonder what's awaiting us when it opens in March 2024.

So if you're outside of the UK and couldn't get a copy of 'Empire', are inside the UK but didn't pick one up, or you've got a copy in front of you and just want to hear four geeks speculating about their favourite franchise, this one is for you - and just so we're not accused of letting anyone listen without fair warning - there are so... many... spoilers!

Spoilers!

There's lots of them!

Now if you're ok with that - hit play! You're gonna love it!

Join Dean, Lee, Jay and Theo for their first podcast of 2024 - and it's a busy one for Ghostbusters fans everywhere. They talk the release date move of Frozen Empire, check out the spoiler-heavy new range of Frozen Empire Funko Pop Vinyls, shake the Hasbro Containment Unit blind boxes to talk Ghostbusters mini-figures, decide how they feel about shaking, pulling and slapping a Slimer toy (with a butt) and much, much more.

Plus the team talk hopes for a big Ghostbusting year, and there's a very special New Year message from a true giant in the world of Ghostbusters movies...

Plus, they talk Ghostbusters Slimer lamps, Ghostbuster Cuckoo Clocks and more merch from the Bradford Exchange, and all those other bits of merch that the team asked for freebie samples of... but never got.

Merry Christmas to all, and from Fate, Luck & Karma in 2023 - goodnight!

With Jay and Lee off investigating something strange in the neighbourhood, join Dean and Theo as they welcome the team from Wednesbury Paranormal, a local paranormal investigation group, to talk all things haunted, spiritual and spooky.

The guys talk how to conduct a paranormal investigation, strange lights in a totally dark series of underground tunnels, what people can expect from a Wednesbury Paranormal investigation, and much more.

You can find the Wednesbury Paranormal team on Facebook at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wednesburyparanormal/ - tell 'em Fate, Luck & Karma sent you!

Join Dean, Theo and Jay as they talk to Jason Bullas, a Ghostbusters fan who went from hiring an Ecto 1A replica for his wedding to calling shotgun and riding along in the iconic vehicle for parties, corporate events and conventions.

You'll hear how the car was brought back to life from a rusty shell, why some screen accurate elements can't appear on Ecto 1A here in the UK, and also whether or not there's really another Batmobile other than the one driven by Michael Keaton in Batman. Spoiler: Jay thinks very much "no", on that one.

If you want to hire the Ecto we spend the episode talking about, you can check it out here: https://ghostbusterscarhire.co.uk - just tell them Fate, Luck & Karma sent you...

Join Jay, Theo and Dean as they watch live, together and for the very first time the new Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel teaser trailer.

Watch along with the team, and hear frankly a heck of a lot of "oohs", "aaahs", and other happy Ghostbuster fan noises.

Plus, we reluctantly say goodbye to #AfterAfterlife.

Join Dean, Jay, Theo and long-time West Midlands Ghostbusters member Jaz as the team unpick the breaking news from the Hasbro 1027 event, which saw the announcement of not one, but two new cosplay props from the makers of the Spengler wand and Afterlife Proton Pack.

You'll hear the team spot the UK price in the small print of a frame of the promo video... only to see the price be revised when the Haslab page gets updated. You'll get their live reaction to that initial £199 price point, their thoughts on the PKE meter and Ghost Trap combo, the subsequent move to £299, and much more.

Let us know in the comments if you're all in on the new Ghostbusters Haslab crowdfunded project, if the timing sucks this close to Christmas, or if you're perfectly happy with a 3D printed or home-made version that you've already got.
