For 'LOCUS043', @locus_sound welcomes @balemusic56 for his debut solo EP on the label. Across four originals, Bale showcases the soulful side of his sound, with label artists @arrettields and @chrisguillotine rounding out the release with their own takes on the title track.

'In A Word' sets the tone with a warm, introspective approach to soundsystem music, pairing soulful textures with deep low-end and carefully restrained percussion. Subtle melodic details drift through the mix while the bass provides a weighty foundation underneath, allowing every element plenty of room to breathe. Deep, emotive and beautifully understated: a strong introduction to Bale’s sound on Locus.

Together, the FKOF Records team has helped to shape our catalogue through an A&R approach built around atmosphere, pressure and personality. But our next release began differently. Olaf aka @Korrupt felt it was time for change, both within ourselves and in the sound around us...

'Over the last few years, Olaf has found himself drawn further into the underground freetekno scene: psychedelic, uptempo techno built for free parties, open-air rigs and long squat nights without boundaries. Immersed in that raw energy, he began questioning the state of the dubstep material around him. Had parts of the sound become too safe? Too polished? Has the edge that first pulled so many of us in been softened over time? Those questions became the foundation of the 64th outing on FKOF Records, the 'Ephemeral' EP from French producer L'Enfant D'La Plèbe (@elric-bardoux). This is a release that is raw, beautiful and impossible to ignore. Rooted in sub-bass, rhythm and atmosphere, it pushes beyond familiar dubstep boundaries without losing its physical weight. Elrich's unfiltered musicality, instinctive sound design and balance of intensity and emotion made this EP impossible for Olaf to overlook. This is also, as far as we are aware, our first EP wholly produced using hardware!

''Paradise' arrives at full speed before unfolding into vibrant textures, confident sub-bass and spacious percussion, pulling the listener far beyond the dancefloor. A sense of melancholy soon takes hold, as bitcrushed bass and fragile choirs collide with striking confidence. By the second drop, the track reveals its full force, bringing every element together in a moment that feels both weightless and intensely physical.

'Track two, 'Cirrus', is a deceptively innocent production that shifts the moment its first drop lands. From there, the track pulls you into a dreamscape of bass weight, soaring highs and psychedelic percussion. That combination drives the release forward with restless energy, balancing a sense of weightlessness with overwhelming physical force. At times, 'Cirrus' feels almost celestial: a fallen angel descending through clouds of distortion, pressure and low-end intensity.

''I Just Want To Fly' starts with a slow rise. Low-end immediately disperses beneath the shallow kicks, while the atmospherics gradually take off, hand in hand with confident percussion. Before you know it, a snare, violin and violent growl slowly guide all the existing elements towards their final destination: an explosion of emotion. As the beautiful notes begin to bounce off the chords, the entire ensemble comes together as the epitome of L'Enfant D'La Plèbe's distinctive sound. A brief pause gives the track one final, magnificent push into the sky. Close your eyes and you might just find yourself flying.

'Shallow, morphing choirs open 'Noir de Jais', while a highly polished 4x4 kick is chased by a dark bassline and intriguing glitches. Slowly but steadily, hi-hat action and endlessly evolving soundscapes fill the stereo image, creating a precious loop of frequency-shooting stars. A pad then begins to jump up and down, pushing the track towards its second drop and ping-ponging you through the realms of L'Enfant D'La Plèbe's fundamental genius for track creation. He makes you feel as though you're listening to a dubstep-esque production, with the snare almost landing on the third beat. It is these twisted, recurring details that made us fall in love with the distinctive sound of the French genius.'

Connecting Seattle, New York and Berlin, @mambokahnmusic makes his @ommayarecords debut with the 'Surfacing' EP: a highly technical exploration of bass music stripped back to its essential elements. A full-time scientific researcher by day, MK brings that same analytical mindset into his productions, relentlessly refining rhythm, weight and structure until every sound feels deliberate.

We’re premiering the banger that is ‘Stomping Approach’: It does exactly what the title promises. Low-end slips, slides and mutates beneath a relentless rhythmic framework, while wubs and wobbles ricochet through the surrounding space. There’s a distinctly cheeky UK bass attitude buried within its technical precision, balancing serious soundsystem weight with playful movement. Detailed, voluminous and engineered with purpose. Proper stomping material.

@thechikaraproject welcomes long-time friend @mellondubs for his debut solo release on the label, the ‘Changes’ EP. After years of supporting Maksim’s music across radio and live shows, the four-tracker finally brings him into the Chikara family, moving effortlessly between lush, soulful chord progressions, gritty bass textures and dubbed-out rollers.

'The Spin' brings Mellon’s deeper sensibilities into sharp focus, balancing warm musicality with a weighty soundsystem foundation. Dubbed-out details weave between rolling percussion and textured low-end, giving the track a hypnotic sense of movement without sacrificing its soulful character. Czech producer @sharpcookie (FKA MyCA$H), now based in New Zealand, joins forces with Belarusian photographer Victoria Petlitskaya for 'Touch the Water' EP. Inspired by water in its many forms, the four-track EP pairs lively electronic explorations and crisp production with Petlitskaya’s visual work.

We’re premiering the dangerous cut named 'People', which dives into the fluid character behind the project, combining intricate rhythmic movement with crisp percussion and a deep, flowing low-end. Layers shift and ripple throughout the track, giving it an organic sense of motion while keeping enough weight underneath for the system. Detailed, playful and refreshingly unpredictable: a vibrant piece of Bass music that never sits still.
