FKOF Premiere!

Back at it again with the next fire tune from our friends at DEE OH 7 - the new imprint from Bristolian upstarts @durkledisco, @user-864918092 and @mc-slowie.

This one drops tomorrow and it is a bit of alright! Grab the pre-order via the buy link...

"Bristol original Slowie opens his account for his own brand-new label Dee Oh 7 in typically antagonistic style, smashing his way through your earholes with a can of rough cider and some of the sharpest, realest bars you’ll hear all year.

"‘Warmonger’ is a gravel-throated declaration of intent from Slowie; skilfully taking on a rhythm-shifting grime/2-step beat from producers Mr Skandal and Ambler Productions with his raw lyrical taunts and swaggering statements of on (and off)-mic supremacy."

FKOF Promo!

It’s been a pretty busy year for FKOF Records. We’ve celebrated our 10th birthday, launched a new digital imprint and, so far, added 8 EPs and an 8 track double album to the back catalogue. And yet, before the end of 2020, we’ll have dropped another 2 EPs and our next physical release!

Our next vinyl-only (again, no digital) release features an all-star heavyweight line up of @chadgotdubz, @biomeuk, @seven-dubstep and @djmadd - the first time these four artists have ever been on one plate.

You can pre-order from next Friday, 6th November (we'll update the buy link shortly) and drops via general release from the usual suspects two weeks later, Friday 20th November...

A1. Chad Dubz & Biome - 455 (Original Mix)

A2. Chad Dubz & Eddy Seven - Strictly (Original Mix)

B1. Chad Dubz - Nilaari (Original Mix)

B2. Chad Dubz & Biome - 455 (DJ Madd Remix)

“We open with the heavyweight Chad Dubz and Biome collab – 455 – that’s been inspiring gunfingers and screwfaces around the world since being teased online a few months ago. It’s everything you’d hope the combination of two of 140bpm’s finest talents would create: incredible synths, crushing percussive power and atmospherics for days. Pure weight.

“A2 is another Chad Dubz collab, this time featuring Uprise Audio’s boss Eddy Seven on the buttons. Strictly has been doing regular damage on the FKOF Sessions show on Subtle Radio and is exactly what its sample says it is: ‘strictly for the sound system’. We signed this one for the mad switch up and the sub that hits harder than a rollercoaster. You’ll know what we mean when you hear this on the system. Absolute rudeness.

“The B-side opens with the only Chad Dubz original mix on the record; the relentlessly effervescent Nilaari. It’s a production on the rowdier side of what we’d normally sign, but we knew we had to have it when Chad sent it our way. You’ll need a lie down after this one!

"We conclude by welcoming the legendary DJ Madd to FKOF Records for his debut, putting an old school, stripped back flip on 455. The remix evokes the brooding, dangerous dubstep sound from classic Minimal Mondays sets back in the day on Rinse – or the halfstep vibe from 2010-13. It’s a fitting end to what we feel is an incredible record. We hope you agree!”

FKOF Premiere!

FKOF fam @subtlemindmusic celebrating November 2020's bandcamp day with a four tracker that's an ode to the wonderful country of Colombia.

This is the full length debut of the title track and you can grab this, and the rest of the release, from Austin and the gang on 06/11/20. The EP is available to stream on all major platforms 09/11/20.

"The music attempts to paint an audible portrait of the northwestern Caribbean region of Colombia through the eyes of a non-native. This region is internationally known for being lush and never in a rush. 'Loner's Peace' extends an olive branch to everyone who is feeling extra isolated at the moment, and it's a testament to the fact that we can all stay connected and share emotions through art in its many forms."
