This message we'll be hearing from Pastor Paul and the College Ministry.

We will be picking our Questions of Jesus series up for one last sermon in honor of the college students, and focusing on the pivotal question asked of Saul, at a pivotal moment, in his pivotal life. Saul, known now by many as Paul, was asked by Jesus as to why he was 'persecuting him?' This question deserves our attention as it brings to the forefront the unique union between Christ and his people, the church.

If God is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, and all-loving, then why do bad and evil things happen in his world? In our present crisis, many are likely wrestling with this question on several levels, and for good reason.

The good news is, the Bible does not dodge this thorny issue; it deals with it head on. Genesis, the first book of the Bible, lays the foundation for understanding the problem of evil. In fact, the story of Joseph, covering the entire last half of Genesis, brings the problem of evil to a climactic point of focus that zeniths in the final chapter. This message will not say all that needs to be said about the problem of evil, but it’s foundational to all that can be said.

Your heart will be both challenged and encouraged with what may be the most important insight about God and life we can know this side of heaven.

As followers of Christ, we need not lose heart. Regardless of where this crazy year fits into the larger scheme of history, we can prevail through these difficult times by keeping an eternal perspective in the present mess. This message from Genesis will help us develop this kind of faith that joyfully endures.

The subject of this message is one we can all relate to—how to forgive those who have hurt us. Jacob’s 11th son, Joseph, provides an unforgettable model for us to follow, and the dramatic transformation of his brother, Judah, who was the most aggressive in betraying Joseph, reveals the depths and power of God’s grace for even the most severely broken.

The story of Joseph’s reconciliation with his brothers is both insightful and heart-warming. In a time inundated with bad news, this message is a welcome relief and encouragement.

This sermon, Pastor Ben returns to the pulpit after his summer study month and vacation. He will begin a four-week series from the book of Genesis that reveals how God worked faithfully and graciously in the lives of his people during a global pandemic. In this brief series, we will learn several important faith lessons and why we can know peace and comfort during these difficult and uncertain days of pandemic in our own time.

Last sermon we got to hear from Pastor Matt about the rich young man who was challenged by Jesus, asking him the question, "Why do you ask me about what is good?"

This sermon we'll be hearing from a special quest speaker, Dr. Agam Iheanyi-Igwe. Dr. Agam is the Associate Dean of Bible and World Christianity at Bushnell University, speaking about the question the disciples asked the Lord before he ascended into heaven: "Lord, is it time to restore our kingdom?"

Last sermon we had an awesome opportunity to be challenged by Pastor Danielle, from Matthew 26:6-13. Danielle talked about the value of "costly love" and asked a fantastic question... "Am I willing to love Jesus with what is most valuable to me?"

This sermon we get the chance to look at a question Jesus asked in response to a question that was asked of him. A young man asked... "What good deed must I do to have eternal life?" And Jesus responds with... "Why ask me about what is good?"

Jesus was seeking to define terms, create clarity, and help this guy realize what really matters most in the big scheme of life.
