Big Idea: Jesus understands our anxieties and fears; He cares and provides us with a steadfast hope. By trusting in and following Him, He empowers us to overcome our fears and leads us on the path to our heavenly home.

Big Idea: Jesus commands us to love one another even as He loved us. We can not follow Jesus faithfully and neglect to love other believers, especially those in our own church family.

1. Jesus’ love was costly love (John 13:31-32).

2. Jesus’ love was caring love (John 13:33).

3. Jesus’ love was commanded love (John 13:34).

4. Jesus’ love was clear love (John 13:35).

5. Jesus’ love was committed love (John 13:36-38).

This text teaches us that: Love is a self-sacrificing, caring commitment which, in obedience to Jesus, shows itself in seeking the highest good of the one loved.
