Many times we shut down when the storms and trials of life come upon us. We begin to sink in the waves of worry and doubt. Yet Christ always comes to take our hands and pull us out of worry, of anxiety and is ready to renew us. Many times we must wait for the Lord, and in waiting for His response, we should always seek to have faith, even so the size of a mustard seed.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted, as the scriptures say, and is listening to the cry of His children.

In our daily lives, we tend to dwell on the lies that we have been told or told ourselves. We must face these lies and counter them with the truth that God has proclaimed over us to grow in the life that He has called us to.

Do you ever feel that you can't shut of your brain? Do negative thoughts rehearse themselves over and over in your mind? What if you could find a way to turn down the volume on your negative thoughts and replace them with the truth of what God says through His word?

The disciples wanted to know who was going to be the greatest among them. They wanted honor, fame, glory, and to sit next to Jesus in heaven. Jesus turned everything upside down and told them that whoever wants to be great should be the greatest servant among them.

Read Matthew 20:25-28. How does Jesus define greatness in His Kingdom?

Think about someone in your life that has made a positive impact on you. Talk about them in your group and celebrate them! Then think about it from this person's perspective...what did they have to "give up" to be able to serve you well?

John the Baptist spent his ministry in preaching the truth. He spoke on tough things while keeping it simple. This simple message that he regularly spoke was an act of repentance. Knowing and understanding true repentance is essential in our walk with Christ.

John told the truth simply; repent and prepare the way, for the Lord is here.

Choosing joy isn't a spiritual band-aid or a quick fix to our stress and worry. It's a chance to be honest about the stress and worry we're feeling while still choosing to trust God and experience His goodness in the middle of it.

When it feels like you are facing Everything Everywhere all at once, God sometimes uses other people to help us through difficult times. We should lean into receiving help from and giving help to others around us.
Proverbs 29:25, John 19:25-27, Hebrews 10:23-25, and Galatians 6:2.

In today's world, there are so many things that might add stress to our lives. This could be relationships, family, school, or even our faith. This stress can have a major impact on our daily lives and prevent us from living a life characterized by God's peace. The truth is, God loves us so much that He has given us a way to handle stress, by casting all of our cares onto Him, because He cares for us!
1 Peter 5:7

The trap of comparing ourselves to others steals our joy and peace. But God doesn't compare us to others. He sees us through the lens of His perfect love. There's nothing we could ever do to lessen our value to Him.
