Five friends. A basketball game. A remote mountain road. And a disappearance that remains unexplained decades later.
In 1978, five men from Yuba County, California, disappeared after attending a basketball game in Chico.
Their car was later discovered abandoned on a remote mountain road, despite the fact that the vehicle was still operational. As the search continued, four of the men were eventually found dead in the wilderness.
The fifth man, Gary Mathias, was never found.
In this episode of FEARFEED, we examine the Yuba County Five case from the beginning: who the five men were, the night they disappeared, the abandoned car, the search through the mountains, the discovery of the four bodies, the mysterious circumstances surrounding the cabin, and the unanswered questions surrounding Gary Mathias.
We separate documented evidence from theories and speculation and look at what is actually known about one of America's most perplexing missing-person cases.
