Welcome to the brand new show! Previously the ThinkBigDentistry Show, we're now the "Fearless Dentistry Podcast". In this kickoff episode we're talking about what it means to run a "Fearless" practice. When I started my dental practice, I did cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and dental implant dentistry. We could concentrate and give our practice a definitive role in people's lives. The great thing about developing a niche dental practice was that people wanted the dentistry we offered. It's time to end the year strong! If you're not close to your goal, keep going and wait for next year. The last quarter matters. It's time to transform from warm summer to a fabulous winter. Make a simple change to your practice and listen to your patients. This will create a bond between you and your patients that will help you grow your practice.

It's time to end the year strong! If you're not close to your goal, don't give up and wait for next year. The last quarter matters. Dig deep, and ask yourself what's your level of commitment to accomplish your goals. We'll discuss using the information you already have in your practice to create this ideal avatar. 

Marilee shares an example of how a practice was able to create a considerable increase in their ideal patients once they took the time to really dig into who was making their practice profitable. We also talk about looking at your patient analysis report and taking the time to record the data so that it can be analyzed correctly. Dr. John calls it slowing down to speed up. We also talk about reviews and how you have control over your reviews if you have the courage to ask for them.

[04:49] We also have information on our patients. We can ethically use that information to understand who we're serving and who we're attracting.

[05:08] Take a look at your patient analysis report. What is the average age? What is the average spend? Having a rough idea of these things helps us better serve our patients going forward.

[05:59] When we create a full picture of who our ideal avatar is we have a much better chance of attracting our ideal patients.   

[07:07] Taking the time to enter your data into your software program will help you have access to all the correct information in order to refine your marketing.

[07:57] It's important to know who your avatar is and be committed to marketing to them. You also need to be very committed to your data and your software.

[12:21] Do a patient analysis report and look at your most profitable patients over the last year. Marilee shares an example of how this can produce surprising results when you discover where to focus your marketing. 

[15:50] Certain reviews can also help attract your ideal avatar. 

[19:00] When it comes to getting reviews, go back to the four C's and be courageous enough to ask for a review. Commit to consistency. Slow down for maximum production and profitability. Slow down to speed up!

We kick off this show with our thoughts on the aftermath of July 4th. We enjoyed our celebrations, but there was a small fraction of people so discouraged that they didn't want to celebrate our great country. It's a shame to lose sight of the sacrifices people in the past have made for us. People worked together in order for us to have the country we have today.

We are also talking about something important that dental offices can't ignore. Whether you want to believe it or not as a dental office, you are always marketing. We talk about the importance of first impressions and how you present yourself. We also talk about the three things you should say to each patient and the importance of knowing who your ideal customer avatar is.

[04:01] We are marketing ourselves all day everyday. We all know that first impressions are hard to overcome.

[07:33] In your morning meeting, talk about your patient experiences from the previous day. You need to follow up and make sure you don't break a promise by not doing what you say you're going to do.

[10:45] If you do these three things people will listen to you and buy from you. #1. Use their name. #2. Listen to them and what their problem is. #3. Propose a possible solution.

[12:20] Know your ideal patient avatar. If you don't know your ideal patient avatar, how could you ever get them to walk in the front door?

[15:09] When patients feel like they can trust you they will comply and are motivated and eager to start. 

[18:12] Ideal patients are also responsible individuals with their finances.

[20:25] Listen to your team, because they are the front-line people day in and day out.

[21:15] You also want patients who are emotionally and intellectually stable.

[22:47] Know your patients and know what you want as far as marketing.
