In this final teaching, Erin Warren discusses the sixth and seventh pieces of furniture in the Tabernacle: The Ark of the Covenant and the Marcy Seat, as well as the Most Holy Day: the Day of Atonement. Both furnishings are placed behind the Veil in the Most Holy Place, the place where God's Glory dwelled. No one was to enter except the High Priest and only on the Day of Atonement. When Jesus cried "It is finished!" on the cross, something incredible happened in the Temple. Jesus did what the blood of bulls and goats could not do, and because of our Great High Priest and the sacrifice of Himself, we now have not only access, but confidence to draw near to the Presence of God. He doesn't just dwell in our midst; He dwells in us.

Like the other furnishings, we see this piece has a practical purpose: it fed the priests. But the spiritual representation takes us much deeper. As we see repeated words of bread, Sabbath, covenant and pull that thread through the whole of Scripture, we find that Christ's broken body for us does more than forgive our sins. In this teaching, Erin Warren talks about the second furnishing in the Tabernacle: the Bronze Basin. Blood and water. Both are required to approach God, for Him to dwell in our midst. Blood atones. Water cleanses. The Bronze Basin served a practical purpose: washing off blood of the sacrifice, but it also gives us a spiritual representation: cleansing from the stain of sin. When blood and water flowed from Jesus' side on the cross, we were made clean. But, there is another type of cleaning: sanctification. It's the process of forsaking the things of the world and looking more like Jesus in the way we act, think, and speak. Thankfully, Jesus also gives us a way to take part in this process: The Word of God.
