This episode we are discussing Confidence. We all work on building confidence. We do that many times in spite of fear, uncomfortableness or unknown. When we walk through the discomfort, we discover confidence on the other side. We can gently remind ourselves...."I'm growing". I'm... learning"...and "I'm trying something new". Learn 5 things you can do to build your confidence. And for parents two tips on how to raise confident kids. Confidence is a beautiful thing.
Generosity gives joy, hope, encouragement. We'll explore how living with closed fist, chip on shoulder in lack denies blessings. Being open handed and hearted in generosity blessings and joy find you. Can you think of times that generosity has been bestowed upon you? We can be generous givers, and grateful receivers. How can you live your life more generously, giving of your time, money, ideas, creativity and resources? Imagine if we all were moved to be more generous at home, at work and in our communities.
Our WOW word this week is courage. We are joined by Austin Campbell, founder of Lane Switch Consulting. I wanted Austin to share about courage in watching him live it out in deciding to leave a secure job as a teacher (and coach) to start a new beginning, new career and new place. It takes courage to reset and change. You'll hear about overcoming obstacles and even in the unsureness of live- courage shows up in the daily, sometimes smallest places. Sometimes we just need 7 seconds of courage to make the decision, take the steps, change something, do something different, speak up or choose. Despite a rough start to a new decision (bank account fraud, a day move that ended up taking 9 days, working a new job that required 100 phone calls a day and exceeding that goal, only to be let go 2 months later because of over hiring in the company, to finding a new job and starting a new business.) Wow lots of courage required. Austin will give you some tips on how to live courageously. Our best self and life is often on the other side of fear.
About Lane Switch Consulting: Austin being a former teacher saw the challenges of taking those skills and transferring them to corporate industry. How does lesson plans translate to the business world? After navigating the process and helping others, Austin realized the need for support of educators to know how to figure out what's next? What am I good at? What are my skill sets? He has created several options to support that transition from career mapping, defining skills, to resume writing, social media presence, job interview prep, to having a coach walk through the process.

Growth is our Wow word at Feather & Foundation this week. We touch back to previous podcasts- Renewal & Flourish- to remind us that as seedling were being started in the winter months and seeds are underground- there is still growth, even if we don't see it immediately. Also, what we nourish, will flourish. When we are growing something (business, plants, baby, or a dream) many times we hit frustration because it isn't happening fast enough. When we can embrace- frustration proceeds growth- we can get excited about the growth journey. There's no comparison on your growth journey. We get one life- so keep going and keep growing.#
Recognize your energy level by a check-in scan. What are you sending out in energy level. Learn tips to better handle energy vampires who try to suck your energy. Does your tribe have a powerful vibe? How do you shift your energy? Your energy matters. What you send out come back to you. Join us in our discussion of Energy.
We open up to Possibilities and discuss how it can trigger being scared and excited "sca-ited". Why do we limit ourselves to only having the right way to do something, when many times possibilities have many ways to reach desired results. Allowing ourselves to entertain the "what if's", "what would that be like?", "how would that feel?" allows us to imagine a test ride of possibilities. We are able to step into the creative spark and imagination that possibilities can ignite. Join us as we explore possibilities.
Our word of the week on feather & foundation this week is spontaneity. In our structured lives, and datebooks, we might find we haven't dated spontaneity in a while. In the seriousness and hardness of live- spontaneity gives us carefree moments that remind us of our childhood. Spontaneity is good for your soul, heart and mind. You discover your authentic self. You learn some of the greatest adventures of life are met with spontaneity. Here's to an amazing date with spontaneity.
This week we honor resiliency. It is also known as BBA- bounce back ability. We will fall down many times in our life, we dig deep with grit, determination and some will power to try again, do it one more time, put one foot in front of the other. (Sidebar- there is a sing along to this week's episode- you just never know the twists and turns and nuggets in feather & foundation podcast! So don't miss a one!!!) We recognize resiliency in other's lives but fail to honor it in our own lives. This week's podcast features one of my very favorite poems- "The Race"- such a great tribute to resiliency.
Our WOW word this week on feather & foundation is Flourish. What does it mean to flourish. Learn the rhythm of grace in flourishing. What would it look like to flourish in jobs, relationships and for those dreams either locked in our heart or that keeps us awake at night. How can we help children flourish. You are meant to flourish and thrive- not just exist and survive. It's time for you to flourish in your best life.
In this episode of Feather & Foundation we explore how it shows in every day solutions and being intentional in creating space for those creative moments. Creativity can be honed and built, like an athlete who conditions their body. You'll discover practical tools in how to foster more creativity in your life, so it may manifest into the world.
