Featured Anime Podcast

We review this week's choice and it was quite the adventure. Jack didn't really care for it but Rick liked it and it was a good show for him. The story is all about trying to save the world which they are trying but they just are not what it needs. The characters were cookie-cutter-ish. It is a short one and it was easy to get through. The music was one thing we both agreed on and the soundtrack is solid.

Next week, we're watching The Vision of Escaflowne, a classic mecha anime about a high school girl who is transported to a fantasy world and teams up with a prince to fight against an evil empire.

We revisit Armitage III and this time this is the movie. There was an animation change between this and the OVAs. The plot holes problems with the story the poor animation all stack up against it. Maybe just maybe we will get some clarification on stuff but in the end, we actually don't and we are left with more questions.

This week we dive into Armitage III - an original anime that draws inspiration from both cyberpunk and noir aesthetics, along with some solid foundation on shows and movies that is pulls from. While it may not be a top-tier show, it's definitely worth at least one watch for any fans of the sci-fi genre.

Next week's choice is Armitage III: Dual-Matrix. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of it or recommend what we should watch next!

This week we talk about Ni No Kuni and it was certainly an interesting one to say the least. The story felt sloppy and the characters were not likable and they did not have much in the way of clarification about things. But the artwork was nice for the most part.

We can't help really pick apart this movie that has a lot of flaws and we have a fair amount of issues with it as well. The story was poor and the main protagonist was not the sharpest tool of in the shed. This is one movie that we both really did not like.

The choice for this week was unique and it was one that was certainly reminiscent of a game for Rick though it feels like he is confused about which one. But the movie is one that has great artwork, sound, and flow but the main protag did rub us the wrong way. But even with that, the movie is worth a glance at least.

Rick's score: 3 (but really an 8) / 10

We are split on this one. Rick loved the show and gave him nothing but good things to say. They Movie had the same animation style as Avatar the Last Airbender and also had some inspiration from Rurouni Kenshin at the same time.

But the story felt cookie-cutterish and was predictable but it did not detract from how much Rick liked it. Jack on the other hand did not like it because of the story or the Avatar style inspired animation. He had more negative to say about the movie as a whole.

We talk about the issues that we had with the movie and also what we linked about the movie. This week's choice left us a little split on how we felt the movie went and for one of us we had more negative things to say about the movie than anything else.

The weeks choice is one we can't help but second guess everything we are capable of. But besides that story was shallow and held no substance besides the show as a whole. The character development was almost nonexistent, and the overall story was lacking. But the artwork was great and they certainly did not skimp on that.

This weeks choice we drift through the movie we talk about and it was a touching movie that is about personal growth. It also giver both a literal and metaphorical meaning on the title of the movie.
