The Story of Ruth-Ruth demonstrates sacrificial love.-There are at least 4 points-The ones we will look at today are -1. The pledge of Ruth-2. The patron of Ruth-3. The prospects of Ruth -4. The prospects of Ruth--Obed is the grandfather of David.-We all need to love like Ruth.

We see three points in this sermon- 1. Goodness of Jesus as seen in verse 5 of the text. The church had been a thriving church for many years with Paul teaching, then Timothy. This church had been blessed for many years, then it became a loveless sinful church. 2. Goodness in encouraging us. God knows us and is with us. Through all our faults - sins, Jesus encourages us to keep on through our life's journey. 3. Jesus goodness with promises. Throughout Scriptures we are encouraged by the many promises God gives us.-There are contrasts of rewards and ways to obtain them. - To the one who conquers - repents there is the reward of eternal life. 2. Sin has consequences- we must repent. For we see the way to Hell is the way of justice - what we deserve. The way to heaven gives us the reward of eternal life.-Jesus' goodness is everywhere. He raises us up to eternal life.

Because God is sovereign, we must walk by faith. We will look at 3 areas in the sermon- Providence of God, the plan for the wicked and the plan for the righteous. In verses 1-3 we see God's absolute control and man's freedom to make plans, but God decides if these plans will take place. When God created the angels, the earth - man, each is under God's plan. Even with people sinning, God uses all for His glory.-In verses 4-5, God wanted all the people to serve Him, but we see with some sin is in total control. God hates sin and will serve punishment to those without repentance.-In Romans 9- 17-23, the wicked rebel against God, for they wanted to be gods. They were totally blinded by their sin. God weighs the spirit.-Then we have the plans for the righteous. Our ways are upon the standards of God- righteous, holy - blessed and a delight to the Lord.-God has given us grace, which continues to train us. We have peace where we grow through challenges as we see in sanctification where we are trained in righteousness.-We see purification from sin for God's glory. In all things God has his glory shown.-We are to do God's will where we walk in God's obedience. We serve him each day with humility and that our wills are in God's plan.

Psalm 51 was written in response to the prophet Nathan's confronting David over his sin with Bathsheba. If we are believers, we have experienced this repentance. This Psalm gives us insight into our hearts. Unconfessed sin can weight us down.-What is genuine repentance--3 parts--1. 51-1-2 Appeal to God's mercy, to his very character- to His covenant kindness. David experienced mercy in his life-God is true to his promises. We can cast ourselves on God's mercy.-2. 51-3-6 Confession of our sin. Unconfessed sin will make us miserable. All sin is ultimately against God, an act of autonomous rebellion. v.5 is a proof of original Sin- we are sinful from birth. -gen 3- -God delights in repentance.-3. 51-6-12 petition for renewal. we plea for renewal- wash me, blot out my transgression. When God washes, we are made clean. God restores the Joy of Salvation. David now focuses on his relationship with God. God gives us a clean heart.

Title- Finishing Well-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- John 17-4-Date- March 13, 2022--Christ prays that the Father would glorify him because he has finished the work he was required to do. While on earth, Christ lived for the glory of God in all things. He demonstrated God's love, mercy, justice, and wisdom. We ought to follow Christ's example and live for God's glory in every thought, word, and deed.

Title- The Christian Sabbath-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- Isaiah 58-13-14-Date- June 12, 2022--The Sabbath is a blessing to the church and remains binding on New Testament believers. Isaiah 58-13-14 describes for us 1- the practice of Sabbath keeping, 2- the privilege of Sabbath keeping, and 3- the promises God makes to those who keep the Sabbath.--Many people reject the idea that the Sabbath remains for New Testament believers. We ought to keep the Sabbath because 1- the Sabbath is a creation ordinance, 2- the Sabbath is a moral command that abides forever, and 3- we are explicitly commanded to keep the Sabbath in the New Testament.--We ought to be thankful that God has given us the privilege of keeping the Sabbath.

There are lost souls in the Church. Examine yourself for legalism.-See if you are in the faith-test yourself. The lost are part of the visible church. Their goal is not the Glory of God, but their own glory.-The Church at Corinth had problems, and Paul dealt with those problems. Many had no fruit-Paul exhorts them to examine themselves-Jesus must be in them.-Matthew 4 Jesus preaches repentance for the kingdom is at hand.-Matthew 5 The beatitudes Jesus tell us what kingdom citizens look like. The beatitudes are the fruit- the work of Jesus. Repentance and belief are not only one time events-Matthew 7 The right goal is the Glory of God -Micah 6-8- -The response of true Christians when they come before the face of God is that if Isaiah- they are undone, depart from me,-Ask yourself who is Lord of my Life. We must examine ourselves. It is the difference between eternal life and eternal judgement.

Is revival scriptural is the question- Many places in scripture give us this answer.In today's passage we see the desolation of the nation due to uncleanliness and the breaking of the first - second commandments and understanding God's sovereignty. The people of the time regarded the way of life as insignificant. The people of the church are weak because they do not treat God HOLY. But at the end times all will know God. For we see eternal life is knowing God, the Father, Son - Holy Ghost.-Regeneration is renewing of the heart. We are to be ashamed and convicted of our sin. With Christ, we have life in Him - eternal life.-Head knowledge without heart repentance does not indicate salvation. For without Jesus we cannot do anything for the Lord builds the house.-We need revival in the world. In I Corinthians 15-25 we read of advancement of the kingdom through revival and the kingdom of Satan being destroyed.

Trials arise, and we find out how much wisdom we lack. We are to count trials with all Joy.--Where do we turn for wisdom- Verse 5-How do we turn to God for wisdom--1. We ask God for wisdom. we are not protected by God from everything, but through trials he wants to strengthen us. We should think -I lack wisdom-. -We must always remember the standard is God, not other people.-God gives wisdom generously. He gives to all who ask if they belong to Him. Wisdom is given without reproach.-Sometimes asking is the lesson, we often need to humble ourselves and ask. We must stop relying on ourselves.-v. 6-8-We need to ask in faith. We are not like those who are double minded.-Trials may disorient us, but will build endurance, revealing to us our lack of wisdom. James says ask, for there is no fast track to wisdom.-God is the only fountain head of wisdom and He gives all willingly.

The son or heir while under guardians is like a slave, subject to the guardian. This is how the law is for us. With the coming of Christ, we are no longer under the law. Paul is contrasting the world with the word. We were once enslaved to the elementary things.-Now we are no longer slaves, there is no turning back.-Some seek material things to give value, but it is empty. Knowing God gives value-we are known by God.-The allegory of the slave and of the free women-Hagar and Sara.-The Children of the law persecuted the children of the free.
