What we see depends on the -lens- we look through. We all too often see Christian living through the lens of culture -ours-. We need to remember only Jesus and Him crucified. Works neither saves nor maintains salvation.-We are to live as one who has faith in Christ.

Title- Fishers of Men-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- Matthew 4-19-Date- November 21, 2021--All Christians have been made fishers of men. If you are in Christ, you have been -caught- in order to -catch- others. In Matthew 4-19, we are commanded to follow Christ, the chief fisher of men. We apply Christ to the situation of unbelievers, following his example. We ought to follow Christ in his heart for the unconverted. When we come to him in faith, he will cause us to follow him in his heart for those without Christ.

God is the great creator - His imprint is in our minds. God is not silent. We see in today's scripture two types of revelation- the natural -general- revelation where there is a God of creation - special revelation which is extra of who God is.-In verses 1-6 we see the worship with our words. God spoke creation into being. It is a reflection of Christ. Creation teaches us we are rather small for in creation it continues from beginning until the end of the world. -Are we learning from creation- Are we seeking to be productive- Do we speak to the greatness of God--We are sinful, but since God is the law giver, we must worship with our hearts. In verses 7-14 we look at the law - its effect--1. the law is perfect reviving the soul--our strength is renewed.-2. God's testimony is trustworthy-3. Precepts are right, rejoicing the heart-4. Commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes-5. The fear of the Lord is clean enduring forever-6. His rules are true - righteous all together.-The law exposes the heart. May the words of my mouth - the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight.

Title- Keep Yourselves in the Love of God-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- Jude 20-21-Date- October 24, 2021--Jude warns us about the danger of apostasy. Apostasy is a falling away from the truth of the gospel- this is ultimately a condition of the heart. We are commanded to keep ourselves in the love of God. We can do this by building ourselves up in the faith. Growing in knowledge, communing with the church, practicing family worship. We also must pray in the Spirit. Prayer is the key to heaven. Prayer is a good gauge of how lovely your faith is.

Title- Heart Religion-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- Romans 2-28-29-Date- October 10, 2021--God demands the hearts of his people. The heart is, and was, and always will be the ground upon which all true religion stands. A true Christian must practice a religion of the heart- -heart religion.---The opposite of heart religion is -formal religion.- Formal religion is an external, just going through the motions. Heart religion is not popular among men, but it receives the praise of God.

One of Paul's prison epistles. Paul writes very confidently for one in prison. He writes a small letter to the Philippians. Paul tells us we are servants of the Church. Prayer and thanksgiving are themes of this book.-Why is Paul so confident- Verse 6- God will finish what He has started. The Saints will persevere.-Theology is a study for the joy of God in Christ.-Sanctification is a part of perseverance.-We need to remember that we are God's workmanship, we need to be reminded who made us.

A fig tree represented peace and cleansing. There was a high priest, Joshua who was standing before God filthy in soiled dress. The authorities said the man should not be standing before God. The Lord rebukes choosing to save the priest. He was a brand picked out of the fire. The iniquity was taken away. The Lord reminds us we need to be cleansed.-In God's throne room we are commanded not to sin, but if we do we are to have an advocate. Our advocate is Jesus, who is prophet, priest and king.-We see the suffering servant is the branch- the iniquity of sin is removed. -We are to invite our neighbors for a feast with Jesus so we may build a relationship with them that they may acknowledge and worship Christ, the advocator.

We are called to imitate God, this is a strong command.- imitate is to mimic or copy. We are commanded to walk with the Lord. We were made in creation to be like God. Adam walked with God.-Sin changed everything. Today we have been given His Son, who has given Himself for us. We are to walk in love, as Christ has loved us.-The Lord has pursued us with a great love.-Jesus is Prophet, Priest and King.

Title- A Look of Faith-Speaker- Alexander M. Paunovic-Bible- Zechariah 12-10-Date- September 5, 2021--In this text, we see the true nature of faith and repentance. This verse can be broken up into three parts- 1- the source of faith and repentance, 2- the sight that is true faith, and 3- the sorrow that comes with a genuine, evangelical repentance. Considering these things will help us to properly prepare our hearts for the receiving of the Lord's Supper.

Our culture is here today where there is lots of spiritual conversations, but much uncertainty. -The Lord who calls us has a specific gospel. We as people are from the Father from the beginning to the end. We as sinners are pursued by God and He saves us by His mercy. It is nothing we do in salvation, but what God does for us.-Romans 8-29-30 The scope is eternity to eternity. The center is the call. God predestines us for eternal life. He foreknew us and saved us by - through faith -a gift of God-. Our predestined lives are in God's hands. What a comfort- Many today want to be independent, but have a difficult time letting God's hands work within us. Jesus calls us to -come to life- through effectual calling -inward working of God in our hearts-.-The Bible is given to us for assurance. We have from beginning to the future.
