Do you ever feel lonely? Are you satisfied with the state of your friendships? Do you have people around you who really know your heart, and that you can be your true self around? In our culture today, these types of friendships are becoming increasingly rare, and feelings of loneliness and friendlessness are on the rise. But, God has created us to have deep, meaningful, life-giving friendships. Sometimes, we just need a little help knowing how to go about it.
So this week, we're starting a new series here in YA called, “The People Who Shape Us,” looking at the 3 types of relationships that are the closest to us and have the most influence on our lives: our friends, our potential future spouses, and our families. In a lot of ways, you are the way you are because you have been shaped by these relationships. And God ultimately has placed them in your life to make you into the man or woman He has always designed you to be. This week, we're talking about what the Bible says about friendship, looking at the perfect example of Jesus and His friends, the 12 Disciples.
