The book of Ruth is a beautiful love story. It’s full of tragedy & loss, despair & hope, triumph, loyalty, heroes, romance, kindness, & redemption. But Ruth is also more than just a love story- it’s a story within a story. Because it’s not just a story about Ruth, it’s a story about all of us, and a world in need of a Redeemer. And your story is a part of this story. It’s all about the kindness of people and how that points us to the kindness of God. Really, Ruth is a story about God’s kindness in redemption.

In this first message, we see how the story of Ruth actually begins not with Ruth, but with her mother-in-law, Naomi. Within the first few verses, when Naomi’s world comes crashing down, we are forced to ask the hugely important question, “Where is God in the midst of suffering?” Ruth 1 helps us begin to discover the answer.

In this message, we wrap up our series by looking at the last request that Jesus teaches should be a part of the structure of our prayers: prayers for spiritual protection. Whether or not we're always conscious of it, we are all in a spiritual war. So, we need this prayer. But just like we’ve been doing every week in this series, we need to see exactly what it is we’re asking for when we pray like this. This is the way to pray Jesus is teaching us, so if we want to pray this request, we have to know: 1) who we’re fighting, 2) what we’re fighting with, and 3) how to fight.

In this message, we look at the fifth request of the Lord's Prayer, which is all about forgiveness. It's one of the most foundational truths of Christianity, and it might just be one of the hardest things some of us will ever do. But at the same time, it's one of the most freeing and life-changing things we could ever experience. So as young adults in today's world, full of brokenness and sin, we need to ask three big questions when it comes to this topic: 1) What is forgiveness according to the Bible? 2) How on earth am I supposed to do that? And 3) Why should I?

Your will be done.” To pray this prayer is to surrender our will fully to God’s will. It means we have to totally trust God’s power, heart, and plan for us… just like Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane.

In this message, we learn what Jesus is teaching us about one of the most important doctrinal truths of Christianity: the "already/not yet" of the Kingdom of God. God has a kingdom, and He has a people in His kingdom, and there is a King. And His kingdom is here on earth already, but not yet experienced in its fullness. So as we pray, if we are going to ask for the Kingdom of God to come, we need to know the answer to the three main questions that come up with this topic: 1) What is the Kingdom of God?, 2) Where is the Kingdom of God?, 3) What am I asking for when I pray for it to come?

To kick off this new series, we look at the prologue and first request of the model prayer Jesus gives us. It’s when we first know who we’re talking to that we then know what to ask for. When we know God is our loving Father, and we want His Name to be honored among all creation, we can know our prayers will be answered. We can communicate with the God of the Universe, who will listen to and answer our prayers.

We were never meant to do life alone. And yet, in our culture today, our generation is becoming increasingly isolated and lonely. It’s even been described as a “loneliness epidemic.” But it doesn’t have to be this way! In fact, we were made for real community. Community that is healthy, life-giving, and focused on deep relationships with others, and most-importantly, with God. And this type of community is often not found, it’s forged.

So to wrap up this series, the last thing we need to know about Christian community is that it's not just for those who are a part of it, but for those who aren't yet. We have a purpose, a reason, a goal to strive towards. And in John 17, in Jesus' "High Priestly prayer," we see that He is calling us as His community to unity, to share the gospel, and to experience God's glory as we gather together on mission to make disciples.

In a culture that bases nearly all relationships almost entirely on feelings and emotions, which change, what does it look like to have relationships that last? Relationships (especially romantic ones) that are fulfilling and strong, regardless of whether you’re currently single, dating, engaged, or married? In other words, what is God’s design for relationships regardless of the season you’re in? Those are the questions we want to answer in this series!

In this last message of the series, our Young Adults Pastor, Brent Cummings, gives us what God's design is for a great marriage. If we want to have healthy & happy marriages that last for a lifetime, we have to look at how the creator of marriage - God Himself - says we should do it. Ultimately, His Word says that a godly marriage is a promise, a pursuit, and a picture - it points us to a better and truer marriage between Christ and His Bride, the Church.
