What does it look like to follow Jesus in a world that often pulls us in the opposite direction? In this five-week series on 1 Peter, we’re walking through a chapter a week as we explore how hope in Christ gives us the strength to live differently—set apart in holiness, anchored in something unshakable, no matter what comes our way.
This week, we look at what may be one of the most controversial and confusing passages in the Bible in 1 Peter 3. But, as we remember the overall point of Peter’s letter - our hope for the future changes how we live today - we see in this chapter that because of our hope in God: 1) We're called to holiness in our marriages, 2) We're called to holiness in our words, and 3) We have been brought to God.

This week, we look at chapter 2, where Peter says that if we’ve been born again to this living hope, then we’re a new creation, brought into a new community, and given a new calling to live out.

In this first message, we’re diving into 1 Peter 1, where Peter reminds us that our hope isn’t found in success, comfort, or circumstances, but in an inheritance that will never fade. When we truly understand this, it changes how we live, how we face challenges, and how we reflect Christ to the world around us.

In Psalm 1, we get the picture of the person who is righteous and walking with God being like a healthy tree, planted in the ground by a stream, with roots going deep down in the rich soil towards the water, weathering whatever storms come, and bearing sweet fruit in season. This is how God made us and wants us to live. In our lives, we grow closer to Him by growing deeper. So in this series, we’re looking at three ways - otherwise known as “spiritual disciplines” - that we can grow deeper and closer in our relationship with God by being rooted in Him.
In this message, we wrap up our series by looking at the spiritual discipline of rest. As young adults, we’re desperate for it in our culture, so where do we find it, why do we need it, and how can we live a restful life? Those are the questions we look to the Bible to answer as we aim to live with healthy rhythms of work and rest.

About us Fellowship Young Adults is a community of young adults (18-35) in central Arkansas. We meet weekly for Young Adult Night at our West Little Rock Campus.
In Psalm 1, we get the picture of the person who is righteous and walking with God being like a healthy tree, planted in the ground by a stream, with roots going deep down in the rich soil towards the water, weathering whatever storms come, and bearing sweet fruit in season. In this message, Klayton Seyler, our Pastor of Worship Arts, preaches on the importance of living a life of worship. It’s what we were created for, commanded to do, and called to live for.

In this message, Brandon Barnard, one of our Teaching Pastors, preaches on the importance of living a “Scripture-saturated” life. The Bible is God’s very Word to us, and so we as His people meditate on it, memorize it, pray it, and share it.

In this first message, we take a look at what the Bible says about prayer. It’s such a huge topic, but in this one parable Jesus taught in Luke 11, He very clearly answers for us the three main questions about prayer: 1) what is it (really), 2) why should we do it, and 3) how should we do it. In answering these questions, we can start to build this practice into our lives not for the sake of earning God’s favor, but just because we want to spend time with Him and see Him move in our lives.

Some of the most important questions of existence are, “Who is God?,” and, “What is He like? What is His relationship towards humanity?” Thoughts of God are the highest our minds could comprehend, the highest subject of our conversations, the most important, driving force behind how we live our lives. And specifically, the question every young adult in Central Arkansas is asking themselves right now is, “If the God of the Bible is the One True God, why should that matter for my life?”
So, in this series, we're seeking to experience a closer personal relationship with God because we better understand what He’s really like; His nature, character, attributes, and bent towards us. In this message, we take a look at the attribute of God that is the foundation for all the rest: His goodness. If God is good, then it means all that is good comes from Him, He alone can satisfy, and He has done something about the existence of evil.
