  • FR Ep #257 So This is 55 and Other Musings
Today on Feminine Roadmap, So This is 55 and Other Musings because it’s my birthday month!! I absolutely love birthdays, celebrating, reflecting. Birthdays are an opportunity to look back over time and see what you have done, seen, heard, learned, gained, lost. Even thinking about how you’ve changed and what changes you still want to make. There is something about aging that causes us to think about things we maybe haven’t considered in a long time. Many people become more nostalgic and begin to reconnect with people they haven’t talked to in years. For me it’s about celebrating, expressing gratitude and focusing on creating with even more intentional and joy. Life is such a gift, every day is a gift, every breath is a gift – why not embrace that gift and seize each day with wonder and curiosity. In this episode I encourage listeners to get curious about themselves, their relationships and their lives. What is it that you want to create today? What areas of your life need a little love and attention? What areas of your life need a complete overhaul? Consider what has been on your heart and mind to do that maybe you haven’t been taking action on. February is a great month to start. February is the month I am launching a midlife reinvention online course, the thing that has been on my heart and mind for a few years so let’s do this thing together! Stay tuned for the course info and get going on your dream too. Grab a cuppa something wonderful and let’s have a chat!

  • FR Ep #254 Living Beyond What If with Dr Shirley Davis
Today on Feminine Roadmap we take on living beyond what if and comparisonitis with Dr. Shirley Davis. As we approach this new year after major disruption and life change, how do we reinvent ourselves, reflect on the past and live forward into the future? Dr. Davis’ practical strategies will help us get out of our own way and become the best version of ourselves. As we start this midlife journey of reinvention we must begin to release those self-imposed limits and internalized stories that are blocking our self-worth, confidence and ability to see our potential. Once we start removing those blocks we can begin to align with our purpose and empower us on our journey. Dr. Davis reminds us not to allow what if to paralyze us and keep us from living our dreams. How? Get out of our own way, surround ourselves with a strong tribe, and stop that stinking thinking. What ifs are not real, they are our skewed interpretation of what could have been and comparison only serves to tell us where we fall short. Instead we can use our life experiences and the knowledge we’ve gained to focus on how we want to live and the legacy we want to leave starting today. • FR Ep #253 Happy New Year 2022
Happy New Year 2022 from Feminine Roadmap podcast! This week are back with a new year’s conversation about how we can begin to create the life we want each day. This isn’t your every year conversation about new year’s resolutions, goal setting or even vision boards. There are all kinds of studies on how few people keep their new year’s resolutions past January so if that is true, what can we do to create intention and focus each new year? I’m so glad you asked! In this episode I share my process of using one word to use as my North star each year and how that helps me to be intentional in every area of my life. Explorers and travelers have used the North Star for centuries as a navigational tool and we can create our own North Star. Sometimes we just need one thing to give us a focus, a purpose or a direction to head. This year I’d like to encourage you to consider choosing one word, no bells or whistles, just write it down and keep it in front of you all year. Look at that word and gage your decisions by it, how you spend your time. What’s my North Star this year? One word and one question: CREATE – what do I want to create in my life today? That’s it, creating my life one step at a time with intention. Won’t you join me? Grab a cuppa something wonderful and a soul sister and let’s chat together.

  • FR Ep #252 Let's Talk About Hunger with Dr Gia Marson
Today on Feminine Roadmap let’s talk about hunger with Dr. Gia Marson. Dr. Gia encourages listeners to allow ourselves to be hungry for all sorts of things not just food. This is a powerful conversation about healthy hunger- not just for food but for the things we desire in our lives, our relationships and in our environments. It’s about learning to feel that hunger in a healthy, life affirming way. Midlife is often a time of reckoning, asking ourselves questions about how we’ve lived our lives, what we’ve done, what we haven’t done and what do we want to do now. Dr. Gia believes that many people try to shut down what they want out of fear and external shaming messages that take over our lives. The beauty of this process is that we do have the ability to ask those questions and allow ourselves to hunger in a healthy way, to live a life that is intentionally curated for joy. We can connect to what feels good, what resonates with who we are now and what actually supports the best version of ourselves. The shackles of the past can be shed and we can change how we hunger, what we hunger for and the way the flows into our lives. Dr. Gia invites us all to take a step back, be honest and reframe this conversation in a way that fully supports a life well lived. Grab a cuppa something wonderful and join us! • FR Ep #251 When Women Rise with Dr. Michele Kambolis
Today on Feminine Roadmap we are talking about when women rise with Dr. Michele Kambolis. Dr. Kambolis shares everyday practices with us to strengthen our minds, bodies and souls. This conversation gives us a roadmap to look at our lives and come home to our best state of being by changing our internal habits. As we do that, we are able to rise and live in a way that is unlimited. When we are mired in and struggle with fear and anxiety, what do we do? We need to learn to metabolize and release those inner conditions and habits that get in the way of our well being. As women we rise as we begin to deconstruct what is no longer true or serving us and shift to healthier thinking and doing. Dr. Kambolis addresses the culture of competition and comparison that we live in. She feels it is really important to remind ourselves that this is not because we are not enough or not trying hard enough or somehow we don’t have the same edge as everyone else. The reality is that we all struggle. Dr. Kambolis wants to help women rise from that world of competition and comparison to self compassion and self awareness. She reminds us that how we envision our lives become the threads we weave our life with. When we live in choice, sovereignty and agency in our lives we rise. When we do not exercise that we create our own suffering. If you want to learn some tools and strategies that will help you rise, join us. • FR Ep #250 Finding Balance and Joy During Christmas
Today on Feminine Roadmap we are talking about finding joy and balance During Christmas. I know as a former retail worker that many people are stressed out and unhappy going into the Christmas season, people get harried and anxious about all the shopping and cooking, all of the to-do’s. But today I want to encourage us to stop, get off the hamster wheel and find balance and joy during the most wonderful time of the year? How? I propose that we scale back the should and tap into this moment, this conversation, this precious time on our lives. Am I saying you should stop doing all the things? Well only if you’re doing them from a place of stress and anxiety. Our goal in this conversation is to reflect on this season, what’s important and who is important to us and make time for that. Christmas can be a great time of celebration and joy if we choose to approach it that way. I can’t believe it’s actually December! So today I’m asking you to join me in finding balance and joy in each day, creating moments of joy each day and letting the days become something more. Christmas is one of the most beautiful seasons, all the lights, music, chillier weather, and if you are lucky – some snow. Friends, this can be the most magical, enjoyable and uplifting time. Join me in creating that in our hearts and homes. So grab a cuppa hot chocolate and sit with me for this conversation. Please remember to subscribe, rate and share this podcast! Thank you!

  • FR Ep #249 The Social Comparison Effect with Dr Loretta Breuning
Today on Feminine Roadmap we are talking about the social comparison effect with Dr. Loretta Breuning. Dr. Breuning is a brain chemistry expert who has studied social comparison from the perspective of the animal brain. She believes that social comparison is a natural function that results in strong emotional responses that we learn early in life. The hopeful part of her message is that we have the power to create new responses because of neuroplasticity. We get to decide how we perceive what people are saying and doing in new and more supportive ways. Dr. Breuning wants us to understand that while creating the shift is possible it does take work to create new neural pathways. One of the key steps is to become conscious of our comparisons and and their weight on us. The pain pathways are the biggest pathways in our brains, even though they are deep they are not always true. Social comparison is learned so we can create an exit ramp from the current deep neural pathway then build a new highway through repetition. We invite you to grab a cuppa something wonderful and join us for this brain changing conversation! Please subscribe, rate and share this podcast. Thank you!

  • FR Ep #248 How to Thrive in Spite of the Cards You're Dealt with Laura Berg
Today on Feminine Roadmap we’re talking about how to thrive in spite of the cards you’re dealt with Laura Berg. Laura is a professor and trained therapist who allowed her own history of abuse and trauma to empower her to help others. She shares practical tools to stop victimizing yourself, deal with rejection and set healthy limits in relationships. Laura acknowledges that victimhood is a valid place to be but it’s key to get to the place where it is no longer defining your life. One of her strategies is to define what happiness is to you and begin to write your life toward joy. Our ideas of happiness can change as we grow and heal but understanding what that means today is a great starting point. Another way to thrive is to learn to set boundaries in our relationships with friends, romantic partners and even family members. Laura reminds us that while we may have been dealt a tough hand of cards, if we do nothing to change , nothing happens so we must take that first step to freedom. A great first step is to grab a cuppa something wonderful and listen to this empowering conversation. Join us! Please do us a favor and subscribe, rate, and share this podcast. Thank you!
