This episode we welcome the first ever male to the podcast. James Mortimer is an ex athlete, a long time friend and an incredible athletics coach to many of New Zealand's best sprinters. James has coached multiple women to National titles across sprint distances, and recently had huge success with New Zealand's fastest woman, Zoe Hobbs. Zoe broke the Oceania 100m record and made it through to the Semi-finals at World champs, and placed 6th at the Commonwealth Games, all under the guidance and support of James. James would have to be one of the leading sprint coaches and has an incredible at working with female athletes specifically.

This week we had the absolute honour to interview Femmi Run Coach Meriem Daoui. Meriem is a shining light and a go-getter. Working as a shift nurse, training for marathons and continually doing things for others, Meriem inspires so many to also giveback. Meriem speaks to us about her challenging childhood, her journey with an eating disorder and mental challenges, to then finding running as a tool to recovery. We are so excited to share this conversation with Meriem.

This week on the Femmi Pod we have a three time returning guest to the pod - none other than our Head Femmi Trail and ultra coach - Lucy Bartholomew. Lucy is one of Australia's finest ultra and trail runners, with a long list of accolades to her name. Recently Lucy was on a mission to run the famous Western States Ultramarathon in the US for the third time. Unfortunately Lucy faced a few challenges throughout the race and wasn’t able to complete the course. Lucy has always been one of the strongest athletes we know. Throughout this episode Lucy dives into her journey both in the build up and in the race, and although only three weeks post race, she explains her lessons and learnings from her experience at Western States 2022.
