When we get judged and shamed from these types of moms it can cause us to feel so worthless. We can develop self-hatred, feeling not good enough, never living up to unrealistic and toxic expectations that affect our lives, relationships, careers and self image. I’m diving into this all in this weeks episode and giving you some tips on how to work through it and see yourself as a worthy, valuable and beautiful person inside and out. • The history of sexual shame!

Let’s chat about the history of sexual shame a bit and how it plays into the problems we experience with feeling sovereign and liberated in our bodies and emotional expression. Concepts of sexual shame and deeming the emotional expression of those presenting as female at birth and/or lived experiences as women date back centuries. Much of it from some really wild and crazy ideas but those beliefs have caused a lot of harm and even death to many people. Understanding where sexual shame comes from though can be so liberating when you realize so much of what you’ve been taught has nothing to do with you. The more we understand where concepts of shame come from the more we're able to help ourselves and others be more empowered in their bodies and who they are. If this episode resonates with you share it and if you desire to support in working through some of your internalized shame I'm here to help! Book a free call or check out ways to work with me.
