In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas face rejection, opposition, persecution, and even an attempt on Paul’s life. Yet instead of quitting, they keep going. Paul gets back up, continues preaching Jesus, and even returns to encourage the believers in the very city where he was nearly killed.

In this message, we look at how God uses trials to build endurance, strengthen our faith, develop our character, and prepare us for what comes next.

Hard seasons are not always a sign that you’re outside of God’s will. Sometimes the resistance is part of the training.

Don’t run from the trial. Don’t give up. Draw near to God and allow Him to strengthen you through it.

Ministry can be exhausting. You may pour into others and see little visible growth. Sometimes the very thing God called you to do becomes the thing you’re tempted to walk away from.

In Acts 13, John Mark leaves the missionary journey—but Paul and Barnabas keep going. Some people receive the gospel. Others reject it. Opposition increases. Yet through it all, the mission continues.

In this message, we look at how to stay faithful when serving gets difficult, why visible results aren’t the measure of obedience, and why you shouldn’t let difficult people, discouragement, or slow progress make you give up on what God has called you to do.

God’s mission will continue. The invitation is to stay faithful and be part of what He is doing.

Why do we make obedience to God so complicated?

In Acts 13, Saul and Barnabas hear from the Holy Spirit—and they go. They don’t have every detail figured out. They don’t know exactly what will happen next. They simply trust God and obey the step He has given them.

In this message, we look at how easy it is to overthink obedience, why you don’t need to know the whole plan before taking the next step, and how God can use simple acts of faithfulness to open doors you never expected.

Sometimes obedience looks like sharing Jesus. Sometimes it looks like forgiving, praying, serving, loving your family well, or finally doing the thing God has already put on your heart.

You don’t need all the answers. You just need to obey what God has already shown you.

In Acts 13, the church at Antioch wasn’t developing a strategy or trying to create the next big ministry. They were simply worshiping, praying, fasting, and ministering to the Lord. And in the middle of that surrender, the Holy Spirit gave them their next step.

In this message, we look at what ministry really means, why every believer is called to be a minister, and why our first ministry is always to the Lord. Ministry isn’t about a platform, a title, or recognition. It’s about serving God, serving others, and living under the authority of Jesus.

Have you ever looked at someone else's life and asked, "God, why them and not me?" Or felt blessed and wondered, "Why me?"

In this message from our series in the book of Acts, Pastor Nick Wyss teaches through Acts 12. James and Peter were both apostles, and both were close to Jesus, but their stories ended very differently. James was killed by King Herod, and Peter was freed from prison by an angel. Looking at John 21, where Peter asks Jesus, "What about this man?", we hear Jesus's answer to our own comparisons: "What is that to you? You follow me."

In this message:

• Comparison is the thief of joy, and God's plan for you is not measured against anyone else's

• Faithfulness doesn't guarantee smooth sailing. Sometimes God delivers us from hardship, sometimes He carries us through it, and sometimes He takes us home

• Peter's rescue doesn't mean James lacked faith. The same God was at work in both stories

• Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19). We follow Jesus and leave the results to Him

• Persecution can't stop the church: "But the word of God increased and multiplied" (Acts 12:24)

Don’t give up on God. Get up and take another lap.

As Fervent Church celebrates six years, Pastor Nick teaches from Joshua 6 and the story of Israel at Jericho. For six days they walked in obedience without seeing the walls move—but God wasn’t finished yet.

Maybe you’ve been praying, trusting, serving, or believing and you still haven’t seen the breakthrough. Maybe you’ve grown tired and stopped walking altogether. Or maybe you’ve never taken that first step of following Jesus.

Wherever you are today, the encouragement is the same: don’t stop on six.

God is faithful. Keep trusting Him. Keep walking in obedience. And when you feel like sitting on the sidelines, get your shoes back on and take another lap.

As Fervent enters Year 7, we’re thankful for everything God has done—and believing there is still more ahead. We’re going to keep following Jesus, keep moving forward, and do it together.

Before Fervent Church ever held a Sunday service, before we moved to Texas, and before we knew what the next six years would hold, we gathered with family and friends in Tucson for one final night together.

This message was recorded at our Fervent Farewell in February 2020 as we shared the vision God had placed on our hearts to plant a church so that people may know Jesus.

Listening back six years later is pretty incredible.

We talked about faith when you can’t see what’s on the other side. We talked about taking another lap when nothing seems to be happening. We talked about not giving up, trusting God with what comes next, and even announced our planned launch date: September 20, 2020.

Six years later, as Fervent Church prepares to celebrate our anniversary on September 20, we’re opening the archives and sharing the message that helped send us out.

We had no idea what the next six years would look like.

God did.

And He’s been faithful every step of the way.

What if where you are right now isn’t an accident?

In Acts 11:19–30, persecution scattered the early believers far from home—but what looked like disruption became an opportunity for the gospel to spread. As ordinary believers faithfully shared Jesus, the church in Antioch was born. They planted and watered, but God brought the growth.

In this message, Pastor Sam challenges us to recognize the ministry God has already placed in front of us. Whether it’s your workplace, neighborhood, family, school, or community, you have opportunities to point people to Jesus.

Our responsibility isn’t to control the results. It’s to be faithful with what God has entrusted to us.

You may be planting a seed. You may be watering one someone else planted. Either way, God is the One who makes it grow.
