In this Easter sermon from Fervent Church, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the life-changing hope of the empty tomb.
Walking through John 20, this message unpacks why Easter still matters today: Jesus conquered sin, defeated death, and made a way for us to be brought from death to life through faith in Him. This sermon explores the confusion of the disciples, the reality of our sin, the grace of God, and the victory of the risen Christ.
If you’ve ever wondered what the resurrection means for your life, this message is for you.
In this sermon:
Scripture references include:
John 20, Romans 3, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Colossians 2:13–15, Ephesians 2:1–10, Philippians 2:6–8, and Isaiah 64:6
Jesus is risen indeed—and that changes everything.

On this Palm Sunday message, Pastor Nick walks through the final week of Jesus’ life to help us behold the Man—Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, the Lamb of God, and the King so many misunderstood.
From the triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the cross, this sermon traces how Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecy, why He wept over Jerusalem, and how the peace people wanted was not the peace He ultimately came to bring. They wanted political rescue. Jesus came to bring peace with God, forgiveness of sins, and eternal salvation.
This message highlights how Palm Sunday was the arrival of the promised King, how Jesus revealed His holiness, humility, obedience, and sacrifice throughout Holy Week, and how Pilate’s words—“Behold the man”—became an unintentional declaration of gospel truth. Jesus is the promised Man who stood in our place, died for our sins, and finished the work of salvation on the cross.
If you are looking for a powerful Palm Sunday sermon on Jesus, the cross, prophecy, atonement, and Easter hope, this message will help you see Christ more clearly and prepare your heart for Resurrection Sunday.
In this final message from our Supreme series through Colossians, Pastor Nick walks through Colossians 4:7–18 and shows how God builds His kingdom through ordinary, faithful people.
What can seem like “just a list of names” becomes a powerful reminder that you have a place in the kingdom of God. From Tychicus and Onesimus to Mark, Epaphras, Luke, and Demas, this passage shows that God uses all kinds of people with different stories, gifts, failures, and callings.
This sermon is a call to:
keep your eyes on Jesus,
stay faithful in the role God has given you,
remember that failure is not final,
and fulfill the ministry you have received in the Lord.
Whether you feel overlooked, disqualified, unsure of your gifting, or tempted to drift, this message is a reminder that your life is not random and every part matters in God’s kingdom.

What does it really look like to be a church that prays?
In this message from Colossians 4:2–4, Pastor Nick teaches how prayer is meant to be more than a religious routine. Prayer is a daily relationship with our Heavenly Father that strengthens us, realigns our hearts, deepens our gratitude, and opens doors for the gospel.
This teaching walks through what it means to be:
steadfast in prayer,
watchful in prayer, and
thankful in prayer.
You’ll also see how Jesus modeled prayer, why prayer changes us even when circumstances do not, and why every believer is called to pray for others, for the church, and for opportunities to share God’s Word.
If you’ve ever felt spiritually dry, distracted, discouraged, or unsure how to pray, this episode will encourage you to draw near to God and trust Him in every season.
In this episode:
Listen in and be encouraged to become part of a church that prays.
What does it look like to build a strong family in a culture that’s constantly pushing against God’s design?
In this message from Colossians 3:18–4:1, we walk verse-by-verse through Paul’s practical instructions for everyday relationships—marriage, parenting, and work—and learn how the gospel shapes the way we live at home and beyond.
You’ll hear what Scripture says about:
If you’re a husband, wife, parent, employee, employer—or you want to be one day—this teaching is for you. God’s design isn’t meant to restrict you; it’s meant to help you flourish as part of His family.
Scripture: Colossians 3:18–4:1

Listen now and share this with someone who’s building their home on Jesus.
In Colossians 3:1–17 (ESV), Paul gives a simple, life-changing command: look up. If you’ve been raised with Christ, seek the things above and set your mind on Jesus—because we don’t defeat sin by trying harder or staring at the problem. We defeat sin by running to Christ.
In this message, we walk verse-by-verse through what it means to put to death what is earthly in us (sexual immorality, impurity, evil desire, covetousness/idolatry, anger, slander, obscene talk, and lying) and to put off the old self and put on the new. We also talk about the difference between biblical conviction vs. legalism, the seriousness of sin and God’s coming wrath, and how real change happens when Jesus fills our vision.
Paul then shows us what to “put on” as God’s people: compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and love—so the peace of Christ rules our hearts, the word of Christ dwells in us richly, and whatever we do we do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Scripture: Colossians 3:1–17 (ESV)
Big Idea: Don’t stare at the problem—look to Jesus.

Are you living out your faith—or just acting? In today’s message, “Quit Playing Church,” we continue our study through Colossians 2:6–23 and hear Paul’s warning: don’t let anyone take you captive with empty promises, religious pressure, or “Jesus + something else” spirituality.
We talk about:
The solution isn’t to act better—it’s to abide in Jesus. Because Jesus is all you need, and He is more than enough.
Scripture: Colossians 2:6–23; Matthew 23; Matthew 11:28–30; Romans 14; Galatians 4:9; John 15; Revelation 3:11

Are you being captured by the world’s ideas—or captivated by Jesus? In today’s message from Colossians 2:6–15, we walk through Paul’s warning against being taken captive by philosophy, empty deceit, human tradition, and spiritual forces that are “not according to Christ.”
Paul calls the church (and us) back to a Christ-centered biblical worldview: receive Christ Jesus as Lord, walk in Him, and be rooted, built up, and established in the faith, abounding in thanksgiving. We also celebrate the heart of the gospel—Jesus forgives our sin, cancels our spiritual debt, nails it to the cross, and triumphs over every ruler and authority.
If you’ve been drifting, distracted, or discouraged, this sermon is a call to come back and be captivated by the love of God and the finished work of Jesus.
Key Scripture: Colossians 2:6–15 (ESV)
Topics: biblical worldview, Christian discipleship, false teaching, spiritual warfare, Jesus is God, forgiveness, the cross, rooted in Christ, gratitude, doctrine and truth

This week at Fervent Church, Sam continues our verse-by-verse study through Colossians with a message from Colossians 1:24–2:5.
Paul writes from prison to strengthen believers facing confusion, false teaching, and “almost-true” distortions of the gospel. In this passage, we see that suffering doesn’t have to be wasted—and that joy is not just a feeling, but a chosen response rooted in Christ. Sam also unpacks Paul’s heart as a servant, the “mystery” now revealed—Christ in you, the hope of glory—and why being grounded in Scripture is the way we recognize and resist deception.
In this sermon:
Scripture: Colossians 1:24–2:5 (with supporting passages including James 1:2–4, Philippians 4:4–7, Acts 7:54–60, 2 Corinthians 1:3–5, John 15:18–25, Mark 10:35–45)
If you’re walking through a hard season, this message will encourage you to seek the Lord, stay rooted in His Word, and trust that God is working even here.
