Muddy Mondays is presented by Rapha and by SRAM.
This week, the cyclocross community absolutely stepped up to help us put the episode together. THANK YOU!
While David and I are at home doing tests and trying to get healthy, our friends recorded snippets to keep the Muddy Monday podcast alive. First Magh and Dave talk about the local event where they volunteered over the weekend. Then, we hear from Andrew Strohmeyer about the local CX scene in Baltimore. We hear from Hannah Arensman about how she became an internet sensation after last week's mud fest. We have a short interview with everyone's favorite Canadian Michael Van Den Ham. Finally, Raylyn Nuss interviews Curtis White about his race win tactics and she shares her really cool Postcards project for the season.
Muddy Mondays is presented by Rapha and SRAM.
This week, we are Live from the Rochester Cyclocross in New York. Rochester is always one of the big weekend of racing in North America; many Canadians and US riders make the trip for the event! David and Maghalie explain why they will have to take a break from racing. We also hear from racer Maddie Munro, about her return to racing. We talk to locals about Rochester's food specialty, hear from young racers and various teams about their experience. Rochester was also the first muddy race of the season, so we hear from riders Caitlin Bernstein, Lance Haidet, as well as the Steve Tilford's Foundation team mechanics about how they manage a first muddy race. Finally, we answer fans' questions about managing pre-race nerves and bike build.
Thanks for listening!

Chris McGovern is a frame builder, business owner, coach, mechanic...he is also an ex-pro cyclist, and a really good trail runner. Gosh!
In this conversation we dive into frame building: How does someone start building bikes? Why are custom frames interesting? Could we create specific frames for bikepacking?
We also discuss the time he invented a new type of saddle bags, thought himself how to sew, made bags, and created a company out of that.
Finally, we dive into coaching and Chris shares his no-bullshit approach to coaching. He talks about the importance of being honest, and having no ego...and to not approach coaching as a business, because that may be harmful to the athletes your trying to help.
