In this episode we review and discuss the announcements from the NYC livestream event over the weekend! A lot of very exciting things going on! From season 3 to free pulls, from blue Mages to community units! A ton of new stuff and even some new events types coming our way! We also discuss FFBE War of the Visions (WotV). The game has its ups and downs, but the biggest concern for us is that it’s released in JP before global, rather than releasing together in both regions ... will this be enough to drive us away though? Find out in this episode!
Hope you all enjoy!

In this episode we give our thoughts on the recent changes to rare summons, UoC tickets, and so much more!
The changes make summons so much better and give us confidence for the future. They have gone ahead and updated the summon rate of rainbows up to 5% (was 3%), updated the on banner rate to 1.5% (was 1%), and THINNING OUT THE SUMMONING POOL!
Thinning the pool of 5 star units you can get when doing rare summons or banner summons is such a massive change. Now when you see a rainbow, you will feel excited again rather than worried. No more Delita trolling your rainbow crystals, no more worrying which form of Lightning is going to appear. Plus, if you do see a rainbow, there's a much higher chance of getting a unit you want, a unit that will be amazing in today's meta, or a unit you can actually use.
Finally, they've increased the value of UoC tickets and how you can use them. Starting with Aldore King Rain, new 5 star unit Prisms will be UoC-able immediately once the banner is available. So if you get one unit, you can UoC a prism to make it 7 star RIGHT AWAY, and it's less expensive: only costs 8 UoC tickets for 1 Prism. No more waiting 2 weeks to use your new unit.
All of these changes compound together to essentially fix many of the issues with summoning units. Higher rates, smaller pools, better ways to use UoC tickets; so many fantastic changes!
We also cover Aldore King Rain and how to use him (its very easy), and Scorn of the Lich, but it's such a straight forward fight there wasn't much to mention. BE CAREFUL OF HIS UNRESISTABLE DEATH. Everything else is exactly what you would expect. Basch with his awakenings does really well in the fight, and Pheonix as an esper is an awesome addition whether its for extra DPS or for the ability to use revive with off units. Finally, units like LM Fina or Rem are amazing as they have great reraise capabilities which can really help against that unresistable death you have to deal with.
We hope you guys enjoy the episode! Thanks for listening!

In this episode we discuss the Scorn of Octopus and the Teacher trial as we experienced it.
At it's core, this trial boils down to 2 things: can you beat the octopus, and can you burst the teacher? The fight comes in 2 phases, wave 1 is just a fight vs Orthros, who comes with his own challenges. Wave 2 is both Orthros and Typhon.
To beat Orthrus it's important to come prepared with a Physical Cover tank with very high DEF as it's impossible to dodge their attacks. BIG NOTE: DO NOT TAKE A BREAKER. They can't be broken, so use that unit slot to help your survivability or increase your DPS Also, the key elemental damage to worry about are Earth, Water, Wind, and Lightning as he will do some pretty strong attacks using each of the elements. Finally, he alternates between resisting physical damage and resisting magic damage, and also alternates which elements he's susceptible to (fire and lightning together, wind and light together). So just switch back and forth, or use hybrid DPS units for unit slot efficiency.
This is actually where we both agreed that the game needs to do a much better job of clarity. There's no way to tell what elements you're getting hit by in any given fight. Normally, the animation would indicate to you whether it's water or fire or ice or whatever element. That's not the case, and colours don't matter either. For example, in this fight, there's a tornado animation doing lightning damage... why? If there's going to be multiple elements at least help us by giving us accurate animations, or as Wilmgaard suggested, put the elemental indicators beside the attack.
Normally in any RPG there's a way to figure out what element it is, beyond just guessing what resistance to bring until it works. Monster Compendiums are a staple, but FFBE does not give us any way to collect this info within the confines of the game, and any game should be able to give you all the information you need, or give you a way to figure it out within the game itself. We don't need detailed information about every aspect of the fight like the Wiki provides, but at least tell us what the hell we're being hit with!!
Anyways, after beating Orthros on round 1, he's the same in round 2. The trick to round 2 is Typhon, we brings a whole new set of abilities, damage, and annoyance. The main thing he does that can really wreck you is Snort. He has a temporary snort, and then he permanently snorts a unit after a specific threshold. We avoid this by Nuking him down ASAP in the fight. Then it boils back down to Orthros by himself and you've already beaten that in round 1!
We hope this helps you guys clear the fight! Some awesome units include Sieghard, Folka, Sylvie, Elena. You can supplement them with other units as you need, or substitute them with similar but "weaker" units as well (ex. Use Wilhelm instead of Sieghard).
Hope you all enjoyed the episode! Thanks for listening!

In this episode we cover our clears and strategies for Scorn of the Beasts of the Dark (Dark Ifrit/Dark Siren).
First we discuss the update to the most recent farming event. There's only 1 round on LGD tier which is amazing is it takes significantly less time. Yes, it is a bit harder to do, but if you can get your team down, it makes it easier going forward and saves you tons of time killing pointless enemies. This change has the Miniado seal of approval!
The Scorn of the Beasts trial can be quite tricky. Although you may be able to AoE Burst them (pretty hard if you ask me) to get the full clear, it takes some DPS management as well as the right selection of tanks and healers. It's more than just "tank everything for me." It requires that you choose the right tank for the job.
Although they do a lot of elemental magic damage, it turns out that covering your team from the physical damage is way more important. Keeping track of things like the enemy buffs, dispelling them when they appear, and reapplying your own breaks is essential. If you have to choose, break Dark Siren as she is susceptible to ATK/MAG breaks (Dark Ifrit is not).
The route we took was to deal with Dark Siren first, kill her, then turn our attention to Dark Ifrit.
With Dark Ifrit alone, you just have to manage his buffs, breaks, and focus on not dealing too much damage all at once, unless its going to kill him. If you do too much damage and he's alive... get ready to be wiped!
Hope this helps you guys clear the trial and gives you some more info on the benefits of getting these STMR level equipments offered in these trials!
Next episode will be the Scorn of the Octopus and the Teacher!

In this episode we talk about Chocobo Fina and what it means to have increases in equipment spirit. She hits hard, is quite tanky due to high SPR. Plus she heals when she beats you ... reminds me of Betty a little honestly.
We cover the Scorn of Gilgamesh trial in more detail discussing our difficulties with it and the strategies we used to overcome the difficult parts of the trial. Mini also gives us some good weapon ideas for elemental coverage. But if you have a meta DPS unit and some decent equipment ... you can skip most of the trial actually!
Hopefully this gives you guys some more insight into the trail, we'll be covering all the trials until we are up to date.
We've decided to cover this content rather than units because any new units being released are not essential to beating all the content in the game. In fact, you can clear all the content with the units available up to Esther! So we'll be covering the trial we do week to week and touching on new in-game news as we go.
Thanks for listenning, we hope you enjoy!

In this episode we go over all the new units and events as per usual.
Galuf looks amazing! 50% damage mitigation is crazy, and he's a great tank overall. Why do we have to farm all these new units out though? Why is this looking like DLC: get a brand new unit, JK you gotta unlock him fully. This is true for all 3 of this weeks units, plus the previous few weeks as well. This needs to stop... just give us the full units.
Exdeath is looking like a fantastic mage (as EXpected). He pumps out damage and never drops his quad cast.
Krile is hard to decipher. Due to the unique mechanics of evoke damage, its sometimes difficult to stack these types of units up against other more straight forwards DPS. That being said, she looks good overall, just difficult to make a real comparison because the place where you would use a unit like her is very different.
Finally, we discuss the current state of the tank meta, the story so far and what we love/hate about it. Plus we have some good laughs about the Emporer and Aldore.

In this episode we talk about FFFS... Final Fantasy: Farming simulator. With back to back king mog events, it feels like the farming never ends!
We continue our discussions to cover the ability awakening batch which has some awesome units... but how many awakenings can you do? These will be extremely expensive before they’re good. Only Livid Shantotto and Shadow Lord will drain your stores of money, crysts, and your life.
The new units are somewhat interesting, but nothing new we haven’t seen before. The units are good but don’t bring much new.
Firion is cliche and too cool to look at explosions. This CG just feels overdone. He has the ability to give the Team killer passives, which is cool though! We cover the rest of the units as well as the event that came out. Hope you guys enjoy!

In this episode we reminisce of times past. We talk a bit about RPGs in general, other Dragon Quest games, Dragon Warrior 3 specifically, Final Fantasy 1, and many other things.
We discuss some anime, and perhaps why one of us stopped watching.
Finally, we ACTUALLY talk about FFBE content. Kingdom Hearts Collab trial rewards literally suck. The real rewards are locked in the raid. Who knows why they would bother with the rewards in the trial this week.
Dragon Quest XI S is here with 4 new 7 stars, and a dragon who is also a boxer. Lots of TMRs and STMRs, lots of new units, and Eleven... Who came up with this name and why did it make it to Live ...

In this episode we go over how amazing the free Lovely Katy is! She's surprisingly good for a free unit and makes us happy.
AI Katy is the nano machine from the future who can literally do everything. No seriously, she will make you breakfast if you need it.
Sora and Khloud are getting their stats reverted to their JP levels, plus some global upgrades (thanks Gumi!).
Riku and KH Sephiroth are finally here and they're looking good. Riku is a cookie cutter DPS, but Sephy comes with a juicy new ability that can really come in handy: AoE reraise on command!
Finally, we discuss what units we are waiting to pull for next: things get a little sexy when Wilmgaard has to make a tough decision...
Hope you enjoy!

Hey everyone!
We had to take a short and abrupt break for just over a month. Wilmgaard had a baby back in early August and the life adjustment has been tough up until now. That being said, we've figured out a good time that we can continue to record our show on a regular basis. Look forward to FFBE Podcast every week again!
In this episode we talk about FFBE Burnout. The current issues with the content structure of Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and why it can leave people feeling exhausted. We also offer some praise to the game regarding the highlights that they enjoy.
We go over some of our favourite aspects of the game currently and what we enjoy about them. The story is pushing us both forward and is extremely compelling.
Hopefully you guys can relate to our experiences that we express in this episode. Let us know what you think and maybe share your exprience with FFBE burnout and what you do to reset, refresh, and continue to enjoy the game.
Let us know what you think on social. Hope you enjoy!
PS. There is a full episode ft Katy Perry and the Kingdom Hearts Collab coming tomorrow! This episode is a bit of a special comeback episode and a rant. We may do more of these in the future.
