First time I ever went out west after elk, I was with a crew of southern rookies big on dreams and short on experience. (And funds) We hiked, we laughed, we got altitude sickness… and we didn’t kill a thing. But looking back, it turned into one of my favorite hunts ever. Sometimes the best trips aren’t about what’s in the freezer, they’re about the stories you bring home.
