Fiction Fixation

Who's ready for sad girl Autumn? This episode we are recapping the 2002 movie A Walk To Remember staring Mandy Moore and Shane West (adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel by the same name). In true Fiction Fixation fashion, we have the most fun when recapping sad movies. Can our twisty sense of humor make you chuckle during this sappy-tear-jerker of a movie? Only one way to find out!

In this episode, Courtney and Rose dive into a delicious dark comedy, Do Revenge. Staring Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes. Rose admits once again that Courtney scares her and Courtney admits that she does, in fact, have a revenge binder dating back to kindergarten. Join our hilarity as we recap this movie with our special brand of satire, roasts, and sprinkles of logic.

We are detoxing from spooky season with our bread and butter, a Sandra Bullock rom-com. In this episode, we are recapping the 2009 movie The Proposal staring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. When Sandra's character is facing deportation (because rules don't apply to her) she forces her assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her for a green card. Join our hilarity as we give you our insights and commentary on this movie, all while shining light on very important societal issues (no, just kidding).

For Halloween Week, and to wrap up our spooky season episodes, we are recapping the 2009 Horror/Dark Comedy cult-classic Jennifer's Body, staring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried. What would you do if your already toxic best-friend turned into a boy-eating demon? We explore this ultra-important topic and more in this week's episode. Join our hilarity as we give you a full recap of the movie full of laugh-out-loud moments and a bit of wisdom sprinkled in. This might be our favorite episode to date.

Do you know what we didn't need in 20/20? A creepy psychological thriller about a girl inheriting her father's dark secret. But that's what we got with the 2020 movie Inheritance, staring Lilly Collins. This podcast is the only place where you will get to hear the alternate endings to this movie...non official endings...okay, it's the endings we wish we would've gotten. Come join the hilarity as we recap this movie in our satirical, dark humorous ways. Hope you enjoy!

Spooky season continues! In this episode, we recap the 1996 witchy cult classic The Craft. If you ask Rose, this is a creepy freaking movie that capitalizes from the satanic panic era of the 90s. For Courtney, the hijinks these witches get up to is more akin to casual sleepover type-things. Join our hilarity as we lovingly drag this uniquely 90s movie, with crazy-eyed Nancy and too-trusting Sarah.

It's officially spooky season. We are kicking off our October-fest schedule with a hilarious movie recap of the beloved 1995 film, Hocus Pocus. It's more than just a 90s movie with comedic 90s-movie logic, it's got magic, and  hags, and parents who might be snorting fairy dust at parties.

Hope you enjoy!

We are kicking off spooky season with one of our all time favs, the 1998 movie Practical Magic, staring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. We are relieved that the movie (which we adored as kids) has withstood the test of time, minus some interesting plot holes here and there. Still, there's plenty for us to laugh and wonder about. Hope you enjoy our humor and unsophisticated takes on this millennial classic.

For our 50th episode, we wanted to recap a movie everyone is sure to have seen OR purposefully avoided. The 2004 film adaptation of the Nicholas Spark novel The Notebook was the winner. While we have strong feelings on the author, the story itself was a jackpot for us. Red flags. Ryan Gosling. Drama. All the things we love. Naturally, hilarity ensued! Check out our banter-filled, laugh-out-loud recap of The Notebook (which, by the way is currently available on Netflix, US).

In this episode we recap the much-hyped about 2019 movie Hustlers, staring Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu. It's a flip-the-script on men kind of day, perhaps, because this movie follows the true events of a group of strippers who finessed and drugged their way into millions of dollars by conning thirsty men. How far is too far when it comes to seeking revenge on the patriarchy? The law says grand larceny, and who are we to argue?

Hope you enjoy our recap!
