The Lord makes it clear that His purpose and design for our lives as His followers is to make a difference! The true meaning of being a disciple is found in the change that takes place in the lives of those who, through God’s grace, have experienced transforming power face to face with one who needed it. In their encounter, we find some basic principles that will help each of us to be ready when God gives us the opportunity to help someone along our way. Employing these principles will help us give them… A Lift that Lasts!

Question: What really matters to Jesus when He examines, evaluates a church? I have become convinced that it is significant to Christ that a church is FAITHFUL.

Today’s text is descriptive of the church in

Sardis—a church dying, but not yet dead.

Senior Adult Revival

The message this morning, on Resurrection Sunday, is one about the Savior’s Sword. In our church, we speak often of Jesus, and rightly so, for He is the Exalted Head of His church.

The late Dr. D. James Kennedy, long-time Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is said to have once made the following statement: “Tolerance is the last virtue of a depraved society.”

I marvel with great admiration at some of the stories from church history regarding those who were martyred for their faithfulness to Christ and the Gospel.

Chapters 2 and 3 contain pointed, personal letters from Christ to the seven churches identified in Revelation. These churches are each unique in their circumstances, makeup, and situation. Yet, each of their specific messages has a word of instruction and application for all churches throughout the ages, including Field Street Baptist Church, until Christ’s return.

In this prologue, we have one of the most majestic, glorious, vivid visions of the Lord Jesus Christ in all of Sacred Scripture. May God be pleased to help us see what John saw when he turned around to see the voice that was speaking to him (v. 12).

The purpose of the message this morning is to orient us to the book of Revelation. I want to give you a “flyover” of this remarkable book.
