When the power of God is present in a meeting to bring a blessing on those who are present, some seek to prevent people from accessing the power of God. This is the subject matter of this podcast.
We want to begin to look at why men mistake the voice of God for the voice of man.
Whenever Jesus teaches or preaches, and indeed, when the word of God is coming forth, the power of God is also present. In this message, we look at the ministry of the power of God. We pray that the power of God will avail for you as you listen.
In this podcast, we look at why the man of God from Judah was not deceived by Jeroboam but by the old prophet, as we look at why we mistake the voice of a man for the voice of God.
Whenever the word of God comes forth, there are distinct kinds of people who are present. We here look at those who were present when Jesus was teaching in a certain place. The last of those present may astound you, but it is the very essence of Jesus’ word going forth.
In this second part of “Differentiating the Voice of God from Other Voices”, we want to learn from the mistake of the young man of God from Judah, who was deceived by the old prophet in Samaria. By the grace of God, as we learn, we shall not be fooled by people who claim to be speaking for God.
It is not easy to know when a voice other than God is speaking to us. Satan does not appear like a horrible looking monster but may adorn sheep’s clothing. Therefore, we ought to have a way of guarding against the deception of Satan and the rebellious Self. This is the first part of our discussion on this subject.
We look at the second voice that speaks to us, Self. We see how Self speaks to us and some characteristics of Self, intending to affirm who you may have been listening to and the accompanying results. The idea is to get us to listen for the voice of God rather than any other voice.
Three principal voices seek to speak to every believer: Satan, Self, and the Son of God. How you respond to each of these voices determines how you would live.
Without being able to hear from God, a Christian will be unable to function effectively. Christians who cannot hear from God would have to depend on others to know what God is saying. Indeed, many false prophets have deceived many Christians who claim that they speak for God when He has not spoken to them. In this introductory part of the series, “Hearing from God”, we look at what hearing from God entails.
