The name Gao Hong is legendary within Chinese football after her role in helping China make the final of the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup.

As a coach and a mentor, she has continued to play an influential role within women's football in China and The Asian Game was lucky enough to be invited to a sit down one-on-one interview with the former goalkeeper.

In a wide-ranging discussion she talks about the state of women's football in China, her own career and why she thinks it's vital more Chinese players move overseas.
