Time is running out for promotion playoff hopefuls in Japan’s 2nd and 3nd tiers, and James Taylor, Jon Steele and Mike Innes bring you every twist and turn in the battle to finish in the top 6. First, James and Jon discuss games involving J2’s top 7: Shimizu v Iwaki, Yokohama FC V Tochigi and JEF United v Nagasaki (start to 12:05); Okayama v Fujieda, Mito v Yamagata, and Kumamoto v Sendai (12:05 to 26:10). Then they choose their Most Bravo Players (26:10 to 30:00) and look ahead to the final day of the regular season (30:00 to 40:15). After that, the action just keeps coming, as Mike brings you a full roundup of another dramatic J3 matchday in J-Talk: Short Corner (40:15 to end).

On this week's bumper episode of the pod Jonny is joined by special guest (though we still think of him as part of the furniture) Sam Robson, to review that wet, wild and wooly Levain Cup final that saw Nagoya triumph on penalties over Niigata.
It was also a seismic weekend in the J1 title race, and its advantage Kobe after the defending champions won on Friday night, with Hiroshima slipping up at home on Sunday to Kyoto, who themselves, like Shonan at FC Tokyo, practically sealed their safety. The guys chat about the ramifications at both ends of the table, round up all of the games, then look ahead to another national team squad selection, and the Matchday 36 slate.
There’s still plenty to play for in J2 and J3, and JTET co-hosts James Taylor, Jon Steele and Mike Innes are on hand with all you need to know. In part 1, after a quick catch-up, James and Jon discuss the fight for the second automatic promotion spot: Yokohama FC’s surprisingly high-scoring home loss to Fagiano Okayama (03:50 to 21:10) and V-Varen Nagasaki’s unsurprisingly high-scoring home win over Kagoshima United (21:10 to 32:30). Then it’s time to crown the week’s Most Bravo Player (32:30 to 38:00) and look ahead to the penultimate round of the regular season (38:00 to 00:00). Following that is J-Talk: Short Corner, where Mike has all the details about promotion chasers, playoff hopefuls, and relegation-threatened clubs (46:00 to end).

There was drama aplenty in the Emperor's Cup semi finals played on Sunday, and in Part 1 of this episode Alan Gibson joins Jonny and Ben to review the wins for Gamba Osaka and Kobe, setting up a Kansai Derby in the final at the National Stadium on November 23rd (to 44:20).
Then in Part 2 we round up the ACL and J1 action from last midweek, before looking ahead to Saturday's Levain Cup final, and the weekend's J1 fixtures.
As referenced on the pod, please check out Jonny's piece on Isa Sakamoto!
Time was against the JTET crew this week, so the only option was for Jon Steele to record a quick-and-dirty solo mini-pod to review last weekend's J2 action!
In a brisk 8 minutes, Jon discusses defeats for the top 2 in Round 35, victory for third-placed Nagasaki, and the state of play in the relegation zone.
There's also the customary preview of this weekend's games (Round 36), which could see both Yokohama FC and Shimizu clinch promotion back to J1 (if they don't shit their pants like they did in Round 35).
Hope the pod is a decent listen, and Jon and James should be back together for a 'normal' JTET next week!
It's another standalone outing for Mike 'The Magic' Innes and his J3-focused 'Short Corner' mini-pod this week!
In this episode, Mike congratulates Omiya on their J3 title win, as well as reviewing all the rest of the weekend's Round 33 action.
As usual, there's also a full preview of the upcoming weekend slate of games (Round 34) at the end of the pod!
Hope everyone enjoys the show!
Returning refreshed from the international break, Jonny and Ben reflect on J-Talk Live at the beginning of the episode, before sinking their teeth into the weekend's topsy-turvy J1 Matchday 34, in which none of the top three won, but four of the bottom six (at the start of the matchday) did!
We went live, and lived to tell the tale! Please enjoy this recording of J-Talk Live, which took place on Saturday in Yokohama.
In a standalone JTET mini-pod, Mike 'The Magic' Innes runs his forensic eye over last weekend's J3 action.
There's plenty to discuss, with under-new-ownership Omiya clinching promotion with six games to spare, as well as a heated battle for Play-Off places. At the foot of the table, there are still several teams who are in dire need of points to avoid a possible Relegation Play-Off at the end of the season.
Mike wraps things up with his customary check on the league table, and a preview of the upcoming Round 33 fixtures this weekend.
Thank you for all the support, and enjoy the show!
There were plot twists galore in J2 and J3 last weekend, and James Taylor, Jon Steele and Mike Innes have all the details in this week’s JTET. First, James and Jon discussed the opening game at the Peace Stadium connected by Softbank in Nagasaki, where the generous visitors were Oita (start to 17:50), then Kofu’s surprise win over Okayama (17:50 to 26:30) and the draw between relegation-threatened Tochigi and Ehime (26:30 to 37:55). Next, it’s Most Bravo Player time (37:55 to 43:20), there’s a preview of the next round of fixtures (43:20 to 50:00) and of this weekend’s J-Talk LIVE at the Yokohama Football Film Festival (50:00 to 55:00). Then Mike takes over for a full review of J3 matchday 31 in J-Talk: Short Corner (55:00 to end).
