  • Gospel Grounds for Developing a Christ-Centered Political and Legal Imagination [God, Law, and Liberty]

Today David provides what he calls “gospel grounds” upon which he believes the  imagination of Christians - their vision - for legal and public policy advocacy might be expanded beyond doing politics the way the world does but only better because “we believe in Jesus!” You won’t want to miss what’s in his modernized version of a chapter in John Owen’s Meditations and Discourses on the Glory of Christ about a particular glory in Christ. It may begin to reshape your vision for politics and law even as it did his a few years ago.

  • God Has Not Abandoned You in the Fire [Eschatology Matters]

Why does God allow Christians to suffer? How should believers respond when suffering comes through sickness, loss, persecution, broken relationships, or the ordinary pain of life in a fallen world?

In this episode of Take Heart, Cory Wing walks through what Scripture teaches about suffering, God’s sovereignty, persecution, and the presence of Christ in the valley.

Looking at Genesis 3, Romans 8, Joseph, the cross of Christ, Psalm 23, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Stephen, Polycarp, and the persecuted church throughout history, Cory reminds believers that suffering is not evidence that God has abandoned His people.

Instead, Christians can endure because Christ is present with them, sovereign over their suffering, and preparing them for eternal glory.

  • Christianity Was Never Supposed to Be This Weak [Eschatology Matters]
Is Christianity only about personal salvation—or is the gospel meant to transform the world?

In this episode of The Based Boomer Podcast, Mike D’Virgilio challenges the idea that Christianity should remain a private faith concerned only with individual salvation and personal holiness.

Drawing from Scripture, Mike argues that Christ’s reign has implications for every area of life—and that Christians should expect the gospel to bear fruit in families, churches, cultures, and nations.

From Colossians 2 and Psalm 110 to 1 Corinthians 15 and the Great Commission, Mike lays out a biblical vision of Christ’s advancing kingdom and explains why Christians have every reason to labor with confidence rather than retreat in defeat.

The gospel was never meant to stay private. Christ is King, the Great Commission is still our mission, and Christians should live with great expectations for what God will accomplish in the world.

  • Environmentalist Misanthropes [The Pugcast]

In this episode, Glenn leads off the discussion by citing recent claims by scientists that we need to reduce global population by more than half by 2200 for the sake of the planet. The guys note the failed predictions of Paul Ehrlich’s 1968 book The Population Bomb that have led to disastrous things like China’s one child policy and constant calls for reducing population even as we’re facing a birth dearth. They also bring in other failed predictions of imminent ecological disaster and note the importance of human creativity in solving problems, such as reducing the rate of severe poverty despite dramatically increasing population since Ehrlich’s book.

  • Charlie Kirk’s China Warning: “America Must Shape Up, or China Wins” [China Compass]

I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben. Follow me (@chinaadventures) on X, email any questions/comments (bfwesten at gmail dot com), and find verything else at PrayGiveGo.us!

In honor of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk, I’m re-sharing a lightly edited version of the episode from this time last year when I let him "take the mike", as he discussed many of his thoughts on China in detail on his own show just a week before he was killed.

After a lengthier-than-expected introduction, we work through Kirk’s China takes one by one, commenting along the way. It's obvious that Charlie understood China much better than most. I learned a few things myself, especially from the second-to-last clip.

Note: Don’t miss the Man Rampant intro/outro, and the final sad segment!

  • Let’s talk Ozempic...again! [Waterbreak]

Gabe and Annie Rench are back for round two on the biggest trend in health and fitness right now: GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound. A year after their first Ozempic episode blew up, they revisit the topic with fresh eyes — why so many people (maybe one in three women, by their guess) feel like they have no other option, what the British Medical Journal's newest research says about weight regain after stopping, and why "just eat less" is the most reductionist advice in modern medicine.

    💦 IN THIS EPISODE:
What GLP-1/GIP agonist drugs (semaglutide, tirzepatide, and the upcoming retatrutide) actually do in your body, chemically speaking
Five real reasons so many people feel like a GLP-1 is their only option — from ignored root-cause health drivers to decades of yo-yo dieting to women's hormones being flat-out misunderstood by modern medicine
Annie's own years-long thyroid journey, and why "just eat less, move more" advice fails so many people
A brand-new British Medical Journal meta-analysis on rapid weight regain after stopping these drugs — and Annie's two biggest unanswered concerns about staying on them long-term
Who Annie actually thinks these drugs are for, and the harm-reduction approach (lowest dose, an exit strategy, working the fundamentals alongside it) she'd want you to take if you're going to use one

  • The Servant Jesus Called Wicked and Lazy [Eschatology Matters]

Will people be judged for failing to use what God has entrusted to them? In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the parable of the talents—a sobering picture of servants awaiting the return of their master.

Pastor Brian Gunter continues his series through the Olivet Discourse, examining what this parable teaches about faithfulness, stewardship, and our responsibility while we await Christ’s return. God has entrusted His people with gifts, opportunities, resources, and time—and He expects His servants to put them to work for His kingdom.

What does it mean to bury your talent? Why was the unfaithful servant condemned? And what does this warning mean for Christians today?

The Christian life is not one of passive waiting. Christ calls His people to faithful, fruitful service until He comes.
