Is God’s law merely moral advice—or the creational structure that holds all things together?

Pastor Nate Wright is joined by Dr. Joe Boot and Dr. Michael Thiessen to continue their Think Christianly series with “Think Christianly About Law (Part 1): The Meaning of Law, Natural Law, and Politics.” They argue that every “law word” of God orders creation, that all law is fundamentally religious (never neutral), and that removing God inevitably divinizes the state and fuels statism. They also challenge the appeal to “natural law” as common ground, calling Christians to recover the courage to speak God’s Word publicly—because from Him, through Him, and to Him are all things.

This 3 minute "episode" will provide some valuable depth to Friday's episode with Jason Farley in which we look at the biblical key to why “jurisdictional realism” is real, not a metaphor.  These 3 minutes, recorded on-the-spot, are my realization of how limited and constricted my thoughts about jurisdiction have been.

Why the Prison Pulpit? 

The goal is to remind people to pray for persecuted believers as Hebrews 13:3 teaches: “Remember those who are in prison, as bound with them.” We’ve looked at Wang Yi and Early Rain Church’s writings in the aftermath of their arrest and attack in 2018, but I’ve also regularly turned to other persecuted ministers who have gone before, such as Richard Wurmbrand, to give us a voice literally from prison. 

This week we are at a camp in Thailand for MKs; that is, missionary kids. Our youngest daughter is participating and it strikes me how fast the time has gone…

Shahriq shares how Christ met him on the night he was most suicidal, and Greg walks through their method: deconstruct the Quran's authority with the Old Testament, then reconstruct the foundations that lead to Christ. One example: the Quran's version of Moses in Midian, two daughters and eight to ten years of work, sounds a lot like Jacob and Laban, not Exodus.
