For over 25 years Sherri's family pushed the LAPD to investigate who they suspected to be the murderer, Stephanie Lazarus. For years Lazarus got away with this heinous crime as she used her badge to shield herself from consequences and even continued to climb the chain of command to higher and higher titles.  This case did not have justice served for over 25 years all the while her family knew who the murderer was.
