  • Film Disquisition Vol 3: When in Rome
Beth is a type A older sister with a distaste for love. When her younger sister has a shotgun wedding in Rome, Beth heads there reluctantly. She is more concerned with her upcoming art show than her sister's sudden nuptials. During the wedding, sparks fly between Beth and Nick, the best man. Just when Beth is about to take a chance on the attraction, she spies Nick with a saucy Italian woman in a red dress and she gives up on the notion completely and finishes out the night alone, in a city fountain, downing a bottle of wine. In her despair, she plucks several coins from the fountain and unknowingly curses herself with a love spell that binds the casters of the coins to her. Back in NYC she is bombarded by a magician, a model, a meats-man and an artist. And Nick. They hunt her down, infiltrating her day-to-day life bombarding her with art, magic tricks, baskets of meats and promises of love. Her honeymooning sister is able to inform her about the magic of the fountain and how to reverse the curse. She must return each coin to the person who threw it in. All the coins returned, she reluctantly gives Nick back his poker chip that she believes he threw into the fountain that night in Rome. When his adoration of her seems legit, they get married in Rome. There's a whole mix-up with the priest and another poker chip but it doesn't matter because they still get married.

  • Film Disquisition Vol 3: Couples Retreat
Cynthia's marriage is failing due to being unable to conceive and also because both her and her husband are Type-A to the extreme. In a last ditch effort to save their marriage they concoct a plan to get their friends together and go to a resort called Eden, where world class therapists, food, adventures and fun await. While their friends are hesitant about the therapy portion of the resort, they do all go to the island together. At dinner that night everyone realizes - as a hardbound agenda is passed around - that the bulk of their time will be spent in therapy and other relationship building programs. Only Cynthia and Jason are excited about this. Because they are both so afraid of failure and imperfection - they have come prepared with lists of their issues, what they believe they should work on and what they'd like the end result to be. Their therapist sees right through this and eventually gets them to name their emotions. Cynthia feels judged. From that moment on their relationship is strained throughout the bulk of their skill building therapy sessions as Cynthia begins to realize that she is not happy in her marriage. Towards the end of their stay, they may make a daring trek to Hump Island (the sister resort for people looking for hookups) in the middle of a storm to help their friend get his girlfriend back, however, Cynthia is so over Jason that she splits off with the  other ladies in her group to enjoy the club atmosphere and to cut loose. It is there that Jason finds her and asks for forgiveness at failing her. They make up, make out and go jet skiing!

She ends up duct-tapped and scared, locked away in the upstairs bathroom with her lover - AND his wife. • Film Disquisition Vol 3: Fanboys
Zoe is a smart-mouthed nerd working at a comic book store with her secret crush - a clueless boy named "Windows." Her job consists of fielding sexual harassment from her friends and patrons, keeping her Star Wars obsessed friend group in line and basically saving their skins more than once. Zoe struggles to articulate her feelings to Windows, after all she's not like other girls - in fact, she is not a girl at all! - she likes James Bond! And Star Wars! And Zelda! Things no other girl has ever enjoyed. Or, at least, that's how Windows and the rest of the guys treat her. Zoe ends up saving the day and rescuing her friends in the middle of their road trip to break into Skywalker Ranch. She joins them for the rest of the trip and helps them break into the centcom of all things George Lucas - the well guarded Skywalker Ranch. There, they hope to be able to watch Episode I with their friend Linus as he has entered into his last days from  a long sickness. When they get caught by the guards for horsing around with merch from the original movies, they are each questioned separately about Star Wars and naughty sex stuff. The boys are uncomfortable and clueless, but Zoe regales the guard boss with a graphic depiction of the Louisiana pile driver: "You aim for the eye, grab the lip...lead her around the room-blinding the marlin" - he is so charmed by her and tells her she's sexy but then she punches him in the face for saying that. In the end, she has to wait to see the movie, but when she finally does, she's dressed like Leia and dating Windows.

  • Film Disquisition Vol 3: Pulse
Mattie and her friends are very concerned about Josh. He's been acting weird. Mattie goes to to check in him and notices that his place is an absolute dumpster. Josh has her wait in the kitchen and while he's out of the room, Mattie is disturbed to see red tape on the windows and even more freaked out when she finds Josh's cat locked in a closet dying of malnutrition. Horrified, Mattie runs to find Josh but he has committed suicide with an internet cable. This leads her on a chase to figure out what happened. Soon, her and her friends are receiving instant messages on the computer from Josh and assume it's his computer malfunctioning back at his old apartment. When Veronica Mars - I mean Mattie -  goes to investigate THAT, she finds his computer was sold by his landlord days earlier. Mattie sleuths some more and finds Dex. He explains that the computer was busted long before he got it but he uncovered some disturbing data from the fried hard drive. A series of images shows tortured souls looking around dark rooms and making strange faces. Dex thinks it's a kinky thing, but Mattie has no time for any conversation aside to figure out what's going on. As she's uncovering this material and handing out red tape (that was sent by Josh before he died so that they could keep "them" out) - the whole town begins acting strange. Slowly her friends become haunted by whatever "they" are. Finally, Mattie discovers that Josh and his friends accidentally opened a portal to a ghost world and now the partition is open and anywhere there is wifi- no, internet! - no, electricity! - no, phone lines! the ghosts lie in wait to ensnare their prey. Mattie and Dex try to unleash a virus that will close the haunted frequency and end up narrowly escaping tech ghosts and run until their cell signal stops. It seems Mattie will be living off grid for the foreseeable future.
