  • Film Disquisition Vol 2 Ep 34: Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
Kathryn Lynn is nearly fully recovered from a car wreck that almost killed her just before her younger brother Billy enlisted in the Army. Billy returns after a harrowing mission in Iraq, now viewed as a hero, but Kathryn is concerned that there's more to the story about what happened. She's even more concerned that Billy is possibly suffering from PTSD. Kathryn recommends that Billy see a therapist and consider seeking a discharge so he doesn't have to go back to Iraq. As Billy attends a Thanksgiving football game, Kathryn organizes a plan to get him help and out of the Army. Ultimately, though, Billy decides to return to Iraq with his squad, leaving Kathryn worried about his future.

During a family dinner, Lydia argues with her sister about how best to help Alice deal with the disease and the related stress. After her mother decides to give a speech at an Alzheimer's conference, Lydia encourages Alice to incorporate more of her personal voice to the speech. Alice does and the speech is very well received. As Alice's condition worsens, Lydia moves in to help take care of her - spending the days out on walks with her and reading to her plays about love.
