QUOTES:

We are more often frightened than hurt, and we suffer more in imagination than in reality. Seneca

No person has the power to have everything they want, but it is in their power not to want what they don’t have, and to cheerfully put to good use what they do have. Seneca

External things are not the problem. It’s your assessment of them which you can erase right now. Marcus Aurelius

The chief task in life is simply this: to identify and separate matters so that I can say clearly to myself which are externals not under my control, and which have to do with the choices I actually control. Where then do I look for good and evil? Not to uncontrollable externals, but within myself to the choices that are my own. Epictetus

Self-disruption is akin to undergoing major surgery, but you are the one holding the scalpel. Jay Samit

You become what you give your attention to...If you yourself don't choose what thoughts and images you expose yourself to, someone else will, and their motives may not be the highest. Epictetus

You become what you think about most often. Brian Tracy

The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts. Marcus Aurelius

You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. Marcus Aurelius

I'm cutting back on my podcast time this year. Listen to find out why. This is not the end. The next episode will be released in 2 weeks. After that, they will be released less regularly.

This episode explores the final 5 questions put forth in Jinny Ditzler's incredibly powerful system, Your Best Year Yet, a system that enables those who undertake it to achieve their goals in the 12 months that lie ahead. This is a strategy that actually works.

QUOTES:

Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go. Brooks Atkinson

The knowledge is there within us. We have only to think about the advice we have for others and then have the humility to see if we’re following it ourselves. Jinny Ditzler

I never fit in. I am a true alternative. And I love being the outcast. That's my role in life, to be an outcast. Meat Loaf

When you find your why, you find a way to make it happen. Eric Thomas

One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular. Tony Robbins

The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want and if they can't find them, make them. George Bernard Shaw

The problem in my life and other people's lives is not the absence of knowing what to do but the absence of doing it. Peter Drucker

Anything can be achieved in small, deliberate steps. But there are times you need the courage to take a great leap; you can't cross a chasm in two small jumps. David Lloyd George

The future belongs to those who prepare for it. Jim Moran

To achieve goals you've never achieved before, you need to start doing things you've never done before. Stephen Covey

QUOTES:

Every time we choose action over ease or labor over rest, we develop an increasing level of self-worth, self-respect and self-confidence. In the final analysis, it is how we feel about ourselves that provides the greatest reward from any activity. It is not what we get that makes us valuable, it is what we become in the process of doing that brings value into our lives. It is activity that converts human dreams into human reality, and that conversion from idea into actuality gives us a personal value that can come from no other source. Jim Rohn

It is not enough to possess virtue as if it was an art; It should be practised. Marcus Tullius Cicero

Praise and appreciation for the good news make all the difference. We feel stronger and more naturally motivated and there’s less of that needy part of us, always trying to prove ourselves and hoping someone will notice. Jinny Ditzler

Awareness brings its own reward. Shifting your attention to what you have accomplished in the past year awakens your “can do! Attitude” and gets you back in touch with your ability to make things happen. Jinny Ditzler

Pivoting is not the end of the disruption process, but the beginning of the next leg of your journey. Jay Sammit

If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much. Jim Rohn

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you satisfied with where you are and the direction you are going? If not, take control of your life and change whatever needs to be changed. You and only you have the power to do this. You can change your world! Napoleon Hill

The goal you set must be challenging. At the same time, it should be realistic and attainable, not impossible to reach. It should be challenging enough to make you stretch, but not so far that you break. Rick Hansen

Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed. Friedrich Nietzsche

The spinning wheels, rotating egg timers and moving progress bars we regularly see on our screens when using our electronic devices are often misleading. Rather than offering an accurate representation of work being done, they are more often than not simply there to give the impression that something is happening behind the scenes. They provide us with a sense that we are not waiting in vain for something to happen. William Park

If you have to work to give your customers what they want, don’t hide it – flaunt it! Paul Marsden

In the land of "I know," there is always competitiveness, jealousy, pretence, pride and arrogance. It is an aggressive realm - the realm of the ego. I say refuse citizenship. In the land of "I don’t know," the inhabitants move without conflict and are naturally quiet, happy and peaceful. The wise stay here. Mooji

Success is a process for all of us, and as long as you are making consistent progress towards your goals - sincerely giving your best effort more often than not - then you are already successful and deserve to feel proud of yourself. Hal Elrod

There are two kinds of pride, both good and bad. 'Good pride' represents our dignity and self-respect. 'Bad pride' is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of conceit and arrogance. John C. Maxwell

The truest characters of IGNORANCE are VANITY and PRIDE and ARROGANCE. Samuel Butler

Pride is concerned with who is right. Humility is concerned with what is right. Ezra Taft Benson

Arrogance really comes from insecurity, and in the end, our feeling that we are BIGGER than others is really the flip side of our feeling that we are SMALLER than others. Desmond Tutu

Close some doors today. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because they lead you nowhere. Paulo Coelho

You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you. Dale Carnegie

Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity, to what we would have others think of us. Jane Austin
