“Julio César Vázquez Ruiz, known as Julius, is a recent graduate of the Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Digital Media by Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City campus. His main interest lies in theatre, cinema and the creation of narratives, which is why he has specialized in film studies and film direction and production. His first feature as a writer and director, La Magia, received the award for Best National Short Film from his university, in addition to receiving the Gender Equality award for its theme and approach, as well as being part of the official selection of various international film festivals. At the same time, he has dedicated his work and social action to the diversity and inclusion of the LGBT+ community in the cultural sector, directing music videos, producing short films and theater productions, and collaborating on countless audiovisual and musical projects. Additionally, he was part of the first generation of Diversity Ambassadors and Peer Mentors at his alma mater. Finally, he has not stopped developing his career as a musical theater performer throughout his life, giving life to characters in Rent, Beetlejuice, Earth & Soul, Que Plantón and Grease.”
