“Xavier Roncesvalles is a current film student at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. His latest short film, Chorus of the Sun, won the Special Jury Prize at the 2022 CineIskool Film Lab & Festival, and was part of the Official Selection for the 2023 Cine Youth Film Festival held in Chicago, Illinois. He was also a nominee for poet of the year at the 2023 Nick Joaquin Literary Awards. A Bicolano native, he aspires to make art that reflects and transcends personal history and collective memory. He is also an avid supporter of regional art, especially in the usage of regional languages and dialects by artists. A published writer and photographer, his art always attempts to reflect the personal in its relation with the tangible but oftentimes abstract iterations of the world.”
