US futures are pointing to a lower open after climbing slightly higher in afterhours. European equity markets have also opened negative, following lower levels in Asia. Fallout continues from Fitch's downgrading of US credit rating. Downgrade blamed in part for risk-off move in equities though sell-side firms downplayed significance for Treasuries.
