In this podcast episode Sherri Crowley talks with us about burnout, specifically what it is, what it looks like, her struggle with it, my struggle with it, and how to prevent it.
Sherri is a therapist practicing in Massachusetts and Florida, specializing in all kinds of life transitions, pregnancy, and postpartum mental health, daughters of narcissistic mothers, and other toxic family relationships. In her mentoring/coaching business, she helps typically high-functioning women navigate their way through the loneliness and isolation of difficult pregnancies and early motherhood, so they can feel like “themselves” again, without years of therapy. Her favorite and most important role though, is being the mom to her 3 boys, ages 10, 10, and 8, and wife to her very supportive husband.
Burnout happens when you have been going too hard, for too long, doing "all the things", all of the time. "Burnout, the secret to unlocking the stress cycle".
Burnout is defined as having 3 components:

- Depersonalization - having less empathy and compassion and
- A Decreased sense of accomplishment, a sense that nothing you do at this point makes any difference
We talk about some practical tips and techniques for preventing and managing burnout. Along with why so many women feel guilty for wanting to make more money. Sherri speaks about some mindset shifts and reframing techniques that can help foster resilience. This is an episode you are not going to want to miss!
