Every person is outside God's purpose. According to Paul, every person is by nature a child of wrath. The only way a person becomes otherwise is by an act of God's mercy. Today, you might be standing before the wide open door of God's mercy. Should you harden your heart, you could very well miss God's mercy, proceeding onward to an inevitable eternity apart from God. Are you inside or outside God's purpose? That may be one of the most important questions you were ever asked. No person is automatically inside God's purpose. It is not a matter of genetics or nationality. It is a matter of God's call. Is God seeking to bring you inside HIs purpose? Could He be calling you? How would you know?

Paul carried an anguished burden for his fellow countrymen? Why? What was his concern? He said in Romans 10:1 "My hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they mighrt be saved." But I thought they were God's chosen people. How could they be lost? What does it mean to be lost? Do you have lost pepple in your family? What should be one of our main approaches in reaching those who are lost?

In this message our pastor reflects upon two consistent images that run thorughout the Old and New Testament. Those images are clouds and trumpets. Why is this so, and what does it mean?

How would Jesus evaluate your giving? Is it a gift fit for a King? Your giving is a reflection of your commitment. Would Jesus classify your giving as gold, frankincense or dirt?

One dark night outside Bethlehem some shepherds had an experience with angels who told them a story. The were compelled to find out if what the angels said were true. There is still something compelling about the Christmas story. Each of us are prompted to make steps of our own toward Jesus. Is God drawing you through the circumstances of your life or through some other means to come to Jesus?

Too many people in the church have a title, but they have no testimony of a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. This is not only true of the general population of those who attend but of leaders and ministers who are all title but no testimony. Our pastor illustrates this from a story out of the book of Acts about seven men who held the title EXORCIST but had no power and no personal experience with the Jesus whose name they used.

The greatest lie ever told came out of the mouth of the Devil. He suggested to Eve in the garden that God was not for her. He insinuated God didn’t have her best interest at heart. He made it seem as if God was withholding something from her. This is a lie still spread by the enemy of Souls. God isn’t for you. He isn’t’ for you now. He has never been for you. He will not be for you in the future.

God sending His Son counters this great lie. Paul considers there to be no greater evidence that God is for us than the fact that He did not spare His own Son.

If you are a child of God, you are so because of God’s advance activity. That advance activity predates any awareness of your own of His interest in you or His love for you. But at a moment in time, you experienced Him calling you—you heard Him speaking to your heart. This passage also assumes a response for it says that something else happened in that moment.

What moment is that? It is that moment in eternity past when God foreknew every action and inaction—every response and every rejection—when by God’s advance planning decisions were made and actions were taken—plans formed long ago in perfect faithfulness—and secured and established so completely that nothing can alter His purpose. Our pastor uses one incident in the life of Peter to give a practical illustration of these great truths.
