In this episode, we sit down with James Munns, a seasoned firefighter who tells the incredible story of saving the life of a woman who nearly drowned in her car and many others as well. James's humility and reluctance to accept the title of "hero" provide a deep insight into the challenges faced by those in his line of work.
Beyond the heroic deeds, this episode delves into the often-overlooked aspects of being a firefighter: the loneliness, the stress, and the emotional toll. James opens up about the difficulties first responders face daily and shares his thoughts on stress and stress tolerance. We also focus on the importance of vulnerability and the courage it takes to change oneself, especially in a profession where asking for help can be stigmatized.

Parker Terry went through the unimaginable. What was supposed to be a beautiful, spiritual, and bonding moment for his entire family became a living nightmare. In this deeply moving episode, Parker courageously and vulnerably shares his experience when he and his wife chose to have a home birth with someone they believed would provide the best possible care for Jordan and their full-term unborn child. Tragically, Parker watched his beloved wife slowly lose consciousness, never to regain it. Not only did Parker lose his wife, but he also lost his son due to the negligence of the midwife. We are incredibly grateful to Parker for sharing his story, hoping to raise awareness among other mothers about the importance of thoroughly vetting their caregivers to ensure the safe and fulfilling home birth they deserve.
