People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care, so if you really focus on that, first, then people will listen to your message
Marketing is about bringing extreme value.
You need to jump at opportunities, say "Yes" more to stuff, even if you're not comfortable at the time.
If you're in business, or you're trying to build a community, and it's not something you're passionate about, you're going to fail.
If you're committed to excellence, you're committed to doing this consistently regardless of the evidence that you got results there.
All that matters is that we're focused on trying to share and give value to help people improve their lives, and make it better.
Nature can replicate how you need to build your business. Think about growth. If you're focused on growth, how do you grow? You can't throw a seed and then expect it to give you results. You have to water it, you have to give it time, you have to be patient. The ultimate growth act is patience.
A lot of things that I do are because I'm trying to test and trying new things too.
I feel my calling is to help entrepreneurs be in control of their marketing span, to skill themselves and be an advocate for the business owners, so they know how to build their businesses.
An Arabic quote that I love, says, "Dig a well before you're thirsty." So, my saying is, build an audience before you need it.
If you really think about not just communities as being a community, think of it as also being individual channels, and people react and interact in these different channels in very different ways.
Think of every social channel as a different soil type, and each soil type is in different areas, where rain falls differently, and things grow differently.
Give yourself a break from trying to put too much pressure on yourself. That's probably one of the biggest things that I would see what prevents people from doing a live video course, is they're too hard on themselves because they don't believe that they have a voice.
Don't play small. Think of it like this, what would you do, if you were 10X the size of the company you are right now? Think big and be honest to yourself.
My big superpower is meditation. I'm trying to put myself in the mindset of going, "How can I ask the Universe to give me the most creative, most sharp-minded, interesting ideas, either for creative design, or creative thinking, or for marketing.
Have a routine that puts you in a state of mind, whether it's a music song you play or something you want to read to remind yourself, do something. Those are the things that make you feel have that sort of confidence going right into it.
As long as I'm congruent with my values, I feel fulfillment.
On this episode of Mindset Mashup, we are talking with Scott Martin about the importance of building a community, the importance of having patience, the importance of thinking long term and really nurturing the seeds that you plant and fostering a personalized one-on-one relationship, where you think bigger.
Scott Martin is a serial entrepreneur and badass marketing executive strategist, of over 25 years in digital direct, social content production and so much more.Â
Everything that Scott does really comes from his heart.
Scott has built up these amazing communities, in social media, whether it be Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest. He shares some of that here in this conversation.
He has recently launched a podcast called, "The Groundswell Marketing Podcast" where he shares insights from top industry leaders that helps marketers and entrepreneurs navigate the future and helps them build sustainable programs that are positively impacting the world.

What’s holding you back?
So often when people—especially entrepreneurs—create content, build a website, or just make anything, the creative process gets stuck in a toxic cycle of perfectionism. It’s tempting to work and work on a project, but no matter how much of your heart, talent, and resources you invest in that project, it feels like it’s never good enough.
Breaking free from that cycle is one of the most beneficial things that you can do for your business and yourself. This is one way that Jake Ballentine found success as a musician and entrepreneur. He saw the value in his work and release it—the way it was, without obsessing over whether or not the work is “perfect.”
With this, Jake also shares his wisdom in how to create community within your business. He believes that community fosters an environment that helps you maintain momentum without ever losing your inspiration. For him, it really is about just trusting yourself to take those first steps and allowing yourself to be called by the mission and pull.
Jake is a newer friend of mine, and I’ve been so blessed to meet and connect with him. He is truly a good soul—a true force of good. He’s the author of Your Number One Goal and host of The Speakers, Authors and Coaches podcast. Over the last 5 years, he has inspired well over 250,000 people with his unique brand of motivation and positivity.
I’m so excited for you to listen to this episode. So get ready to get inspired to take action, allow yourself to be in service, and refuse getting caught up in perfectionism.

What pushes you forward every single day? Are you led by your fear and a threat of emptiness?
Day in and day out, too many people operate out of fear. Fear of lack, fear of failure, fear of anything. If there was one thing to crush creativity, hold back dreams, and kill potential, this would be it. So instead of fueling yourself with fear, be led by love, soul, and intuition. This is some of the incredible wisdom that Carolyn Rim brings us today.
Carolyn Rim has been a personal inspiration to me. She crushed her addition to cigarettes with a snap of her fingers, ended an unhealthy and toxic marriage, and left her old 9 to 5 cubical job that left her soul unfulfilled. She’s a beautiful mother, leader, and friend. To sum it up: she’s a Rockstar—a true force of good.
In this episode, Carolyn and I unpack her powerful story of transformation. She shares with us how she discovered her life’s purpose, how she’s found success, and—of course—what fulfillment means to her. Carolyn is vulnerable, inspirational, and shares practical advice on how to rewrite the script of your life.
So get ready to find your path to abundance and fulfillment with us today!

Do you ever feel like you just don’t have enough time in the day and then your self-care rituals are the first to go?
There are so many fancy words floating around nowadays, from “biohacking” to “human upgrading” and everything in between—all claiming to save time while providing you with the same results. When these buzz words get thrown out there willy-nilly without truly being defined or unpacked, people get skeptical about whether or not something really works. On today’s episode, we’re going to really unpack those words in an understandable way with the help of Martin Tobias.
Martin is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He’s a recognized leader in technology and investor in many fast-growing markets. Now, he’s focused on the emerging intersection of healthcare, technology, fitness, and the transformation economy as an investor and entrepreneur.
In this episode, Martin shares his own personal experiences and transformations with biohacks that work for him, from meditation to specific exercises. He explains the science behind the physical work he does and how he has actually become biologically younger! All this is done in less time than you’d think.

How do you react to the world around you each day? When something doesn’t go quite as meticulously planned?
For entrepreneurs (or solopreneurs), most of our days are spent both planning and taking action. No matter how much we try to control the world around us, things usually don’t go quite as planned. When this happens, you have two options: step into self-leadership or become a prisoner of circumstance, according to my friend Jason Goldberg.
Jason Goldberg is an award-winning entrepreneur, highly sought-after speaker, and the author of the #1 international bestseller Prison Break. He’s had a jam-packed life so far; now, however, he focuses on blending his signature mix of simple and transformational wisdom, practical business mentorship, and belly-busting humor to help coaches, speakers, and online educators build competition-proof businesses. In everything he pursues, Jason’s main goal is to always work toward connecting with someone and making a genuinely positive impact on them.
On today’s episode, Jason and I talk about some truly transformational topics. He shares his experience of “nailing and scaling” his competition-proof business, the relationship between our fear and our ego, and why everyone needs to prioritize connection in today’s world.
We’ve officially declared this episode as the best podcast episode I’ve ever done. I can’t wait for you to take a listen!

Today, we’re turning the tables and putting ME on the opposite side of the mic!
I’m sharing with you an interview that I did last week on Cayla Craft’s The Mommy Millionaire Podcast. Cayla is a self-made, nurse-turned-millionaire, and on a mission to help women entrepreneurs find their path and explode in business.
In this episode, you’ll discover a little bit more about me. I’ll share with you some of my own career history, including the time that I was on The Apprentice (throwback!). With all that, I’ll share all about how important it is to truly own who you are. Find confidence in yourself, what you have to give, and quit the things that don’t serve you. It’s all about being shamelessly truthful in who you are and with your actions.Â

How do you talk to others?
How does that compare to the way you talk to yourself?
There’s unique power in words: what you say to yourself affects your entire life. It’s easy to fall into a pattern of negative self-talk, but that doesn’t mean our minds need to stay in that space. That’s why today I’m interviewing Liz Hernandez, who spends her time shifting her language use to positivity and self-love.
Liz is a Mexican-American, Emmy-nominated television personality and journalist. She’s quick-witted, with a genuine spirit, and exudes authenticity all the time. She was incredibly successful in her entertainment news career, but she realized that her work was no longer in alignment with what her soul craved.
At the same time, Liz’s mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and began losing her ability to speak; with this, she realized the power that words have. This sparked her inspiration for Wordaful. Wordaful is derived from the phrase, “Words are powerful,” and serves as a new way to tell stories, make powerful connections to words, and manifest new realities for yourself.Â
Get ready to learn the power of shifting your internal and external dialogue to one of self-love and defining fulfillment for yourself through it.Â
