There is no such thing as toxic masculinity, just as there is no such thing as toxic femininity. We like to slap labels on everything we touch, but this is dangerous as we are raising our children, because we are teaching them (especially our sons) they are inherently bad. We own characteristics, that can be good and bad, we need to train our children how to use them appropriately no matter what sex.

A friend of mine Ben Owen loves this verse from Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

I’m going to spice it up a bit though, with some of my own wording….as these are the words that I feel when I hear him speak this verse!

In a moment that sent shivers down my spine, I was suddenly captivated by the commanding voice of the Almighty. It echoed through the depths of my soul, leaving no room for doubt or hesitation. The question hung in the air, daring me to step forward and embrace the unknown. With a surge of courage, I found myself unable to resist the call, declaring with unwavering determination, "Here am I. Send me!

Ryan is the founder of the Order of Man movement. 
This is an organization that I am personally associated with. It's one that I've seen many men come into and become much more than they started.

In the "Step Into the Fray" series, we hear many statistics that would suggest that there is men are driving the demand in trafficking. 

In this episode Ryan really lays it out straight....
All of the same characteristics that make men great are also the same ones that can make a man a horrible person. The intentionality of the man that comes into question.

He also drives home the point of why strong fathers are important for young men.

Even though many men are behind the atrocity of human trafficking, it is my belief that the way that we slow or even stop demand is by working toward bringing strong men back to the world. We need strong fathers to shepherd young men into adulthood to become good men. Righteous men are also the answer.

It's not a problem with men, it's a problem with our society.

FILTER is a digital well-being and online safety curriculum designed to empower young people to set boundaries, create good habits, and achieve healthier relationships with technology. Through smart phone and social media literacy training, we truly believe we can change the way these devices are impacting students, prevent problems before they start, and create a better world for this generation and generations to come. #FILTERFIRST

FILTER was created by sisters and co-founders Hallie House and Hannah George to combat the serious and harmful impacts we are seeing social media have on our young people. With 10 children between the two of them, ages 4 to 17, they found that although there are plenty of resources for parents on the dangers of unbridled smartphone and social media use on teens, there was little on the market that actually focused on educating the pre-teens and teens. Spurred on by this realization FILTER was born.

Hannah grew up in Little Rock,  Arkansas and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to run track at Lipscomb University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Accounting. As a CPA, she has worked in public accounting, health care, and the professional sports industry, but found her passion in the non-profit world working for United Way of Metro Nashville.  While taking time away from work to care for her family, she saw a huge need for education and awareness centered around smartphones and social media and set out on this journey to help people develop healthier relationships with technology and to never forget that they are more than they are online. Her and her husband, Jeremy, currently live in the suburbs of Nashville with their six children.

Jessica is a nationally recognized survivor leader that has built a national network of tattoo artists & removal specialists who provide services to survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, former gang members,  and overcomers of self-harm and addiction.  Jessica trains in Iconography, the history of human-trafficking tattoos, and on her lived experience.  She has over 20 yrs around the tattoo industry and she specializes in tattoo identification, & she has over 11 years as an advocate in anti-trafficking.  She has served as an expert witness in trafficking cases in Georgia and Alabama.  She has been a keynote and a presenter at conferences and trainings across the US and in Canada.  Her work is known in the anti-trafficking & tattoo industry across the nation.

Outside of ARI, Jessica is a Peer Support Counselor and provides Art therapy to Behavioral Health Centers & Safe homes.
