Kevin is the man that I will give most of the credit to for the connections I have made in this sector. He is known by all and in my opinion, God intended for us to meet. From that one interview with him, this entire series was born.

“There will always be those who profit from human misery by targeting vulnerable people for exploitation. Thanks to technology, human trafficking, and exploitation is a public health epidemic, and law enforcement cannot address it alone. The only hope lies in collaborating with critical stakeholders like the Sentinel Foundation, who bring skills, resources, and passion for empowering law enforcement to recover victims and arrest traffickers more effectively and efficiently.”

I'd like to introduce you to Lynda Harlos, a mother to many that aren't even blood related.

"As you can imagine, we had been through some normal/not-so-normal things having 4 teenagers in our home.

Since finding out about my oldest daughter being trafficked, I now dedicate a great deal of time and resources to educating anyone who will listen on this topic all in the hopes that we can prevent this from happening to another family."

In this episode you will meet Khalila, a wonderful soul!

Hey! I’m Khalila.

I have been a survivor since 2013 and an advocate in the fight against human trafficking since 2020. Just like every survivor, I bring a unique, specific perspective on the issue and my personal story has influenced the work I do. In my years since leaving “the life”, I’ve gained experience and education working in the anti-trafficking field to help others leave exploitation.

I have worked as a residential technician and a case manager, with several organizations such as Hope Center Indy and The Salvation Army in the Greater Cincinnati Anti-Human Trafficking Division.

Currently I serve  as a Board Member on the Survivor Advisory Council for the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking, representing the Northeast Ohio Region and am a member of Survivor Alliance.

In 2020 I met and partnered with Dr. Carolyn Knight, the Founder of Light In Darkness Ministries, of which I will soon be leading a chapter of in the Queen City.

I am passionate about helping others find freedom from human trafficking and believe that we all share a responsibility in the fight to do what we can to eradicate this and bring healing to those that are both free and still entrapped.

My long term goal is to establish a refuge for children, young girls, women that are victims and survivors of human trafficking, with the intention of global outreach for this international need.

I’m excited to partner with you in the fight for freedom from modern day slavery!
