As a survivor of many types of abuse from birth to right before I started my senior year of high school, I was born into a generational satanic cult, sex trafficked by four family members, and experienced awful things you don’t want to imagine.

After years of feeling ashamed about what happened to me, I finally realized in 2022 that I was not the one who should be ashamed. The abusers should be. I discovered that telling my story and supporting other survivors has helped me heal. It also permits others to share their story.

I used to get told often enough "you have two ears and one mouth for a reason"
While some might get offended, there is a good lesson to be learned within this that can help us grow in our leadership style!

Let's work a bit more on our listening skills and a little less on our talking!

Minna B. an author and mental health coach states

“Being held accountable is an act of generosity and compassion. It is a gift that someone gives us to correct our wrongs, unlearn, and do better for the sake of our own growth. It might be uncomfortable, but it is worth the discomfort.”

We need to treat accountability as the gift it is, stop turning our noses up at it. We need to use it for a metric to drive forward.

Nick Lavery is a man who's name is synonymous with resilience.

Shot in the face, shrapnel to the back, having his leg shot off in Afghanistan and this man still pushes himself to the limit.

Some say that he is wired this way, and there is no doubt that he is, but one of the most interesting things that Nick has to say in this interview is that we all are wired the same and he encourages all of us to find ways to tap into this without having to go through a traumatic event or hit rock bottom.

His book Objective Secure outlines this format.
