It's THURSDAY NIGHT... and we - RAIDER NATION and all fans whose teams are no longer playing in the 2021-2022 NFL Season - must get used to the 'after life'... much like anyone who died, there are changes galore which must be done.  I mean, we get a feel for that after the College season when we have to figure out WTF to watch on the tube on SATURDAYS... but now the WHOLE WEEKEND needs to be addressed. 

That's a damn bummer if you ask me, but then again... you CAN ASK the old Salty Pirate, as that's the basis of this show! So what's up? Hockey and Basketball... and it's too early for Spring Training... and that's if they even HAVE an MLB season in 2022...

We've passed Black Monday with some firings in the NFL.  I think Flores (ex-Miami) will be snapped up quickly, and maybe Fangio will get a shot at DC somewhere soon.  Nagy? possibly looked at for OC somewhere, but I think Zimmer may be on vacation for awhile.  Anyone else? ohhhhhh... yeah, there's the JAGS job (snicker) and a possible job in Vegas.  I DID say possible, depending on how long/far the Raiders dance starting this Saturday.

I was 'All Set' to talk about our upcoming game this weekend in Indy... and yes YOURS TRULY WILL BE THERE... when all of Raider Nation was truly struck by the piercing news of the passing of HOF Coach John Madden.  Madden, along with the death of Lineman Bruce Davis yesterday, enabled a 'gut punch' to the soul of all of our Fan Base.  May the both now "REST IN PARADISE"... onward...

WOW!! I Can't wait until O.G. Daniel gets out ALL the juicy information he has on one of the most well-known of the "OLD SKOOL RAIDERS"... the player who epitomized the WARRIOR KILLER INTENT of the Raiders' D of the 1960's  

Ben Davidson was FEEEEEEARRRRED by players, which is uniquely oxymoronic when pitted up to his real life persona. The man who CLUBBED NAMATH and Broke his Jaw (pictured... although actually Ike Lassiter, his fellow D-line crony was the ACTUAL player who broke Joe Willie's jaw... bet you didn't know that!!) was a genuine 'pussycat' of a man off the field, much like fellow D-Lineman of the time Merlin Olsen. 

Davidson was also one of the first Raiders to hit it big in Hollywood when he finished his career.... don't you remember seeing him in the original  Conan  the Barbarian opposite a young Schwarzenegger? Or on  early Miller Lite Beer commercials with John Madden? No? Guess I'm just OLLLLLLLLLLLD....

Wow.... what a game.  HIGHS and LOWS.... but what else would you expect from a RAIDERS' game, right? you're either going to be GLEEFUL with a Win or PISSY about a Loss.... Actually... I'm correct on both terms.... even though the Raiders WON.... Most of Raider Nation was gleefully pissy about the performance.  Oh well.
