Paul prayed that the Philippians church would grow in real love. His goal for them was that they would make the best decisions for their lives, he prayed for their future vindication and he prayed that the growth of the Philippian church would magnify the glory of God.

What should relationships among Christians be like? Thankfulness, hope, partnership and affection.

We are slaves of Jesus Christ because He bought us with His blood on the cross. We are saints, not because of our own righteousness but again because of what Jesus did on the cross.

Discipleship is helping people follow Jesus.

Jesus gave us the mission statement for the church in Matthew 28:18-20. It is important that we know what our mission is, that we own our mission and that we live our mission. This involves discipleship.

The gospel was a promised gospel. It is an historical gospel, it really happened in history. It is a substitutionary gospel, Jesus died on the cross for our sins. It is a living gospel, Jesus was raised on the third day and it is an active gospel, it must be actively received. The gospel is a most important part of our message to the world.
