Despite the best efforts of a determined fly to deter the message, last Sunday we learned about and practiced lectio divina, also known as sacred reading. We were reminded that God's word is living and breathing and still speaking to each and every one of us when we listen. This Sunday, we learned about the ancient practice of walking a labyrinth to help bring more peacefulness to our anxious times. How the twists and turns of this walk reflects the turns our own faith lives take as we try to draw close to the center where we can find God.

Last week we celebrated Pentecost!  Pentecost the power of telling the story of Jesus, as Peter does that day, to tell people the news that God's power and presence cane to us in the Holy Spirit that continues to spread every time we tell people about it!

This week we finished up our series: How well do you know....with the story of Lydia. She reminded us that important stuff happens at rivers in the Bible. In her case, God opened her heart to listen to Paul preach the gospel and then she opened her home to become the first church in Philippi! She reminds us that listening to God can change our lives and that hospitality is at the core of our faith.

This week we talked about Peter and Paul, and by learning more about them, we learn how to handle disruptions from God. They both had huge disruptions to their faith and belief, showing us that disruptions are both normal and a chance to think and act differently in order to express God's love and grow closer to God's truth.

We started our new series last week "How Well Do You Know..." with the 12 disciples.  Through a hilarious video and message learning about the disciples reminded us that disciples aren't perfect, are life-long learners and most importantly are called to share the good news.  They encourage us to ask ourselves, how well do we know what God is calling us to do?

This week we walk to the garden with the women again to discover the good news of Easter, that the stone has been rolled away and Jesus is not there! Come celebrate the joy and light of Easter morning. Let us finish this holiest week of the year together praising God in song and prayer, eating and sharing together as the beloved and forgiven children of God!
